I am thinking about finally getting my 3D space ship board created in 15mm but what some interal furniture features such as computer consols, power hubs and the like to fill up some of the more open spaces. Any recommendations? |

Yea, see the other postings, since there are lots of good ideas on those. I'd like to see some items created for a futuristic spaceport interior, e.g. counters to sell tickets and assist customers from, kiosks to sell tickets, conveyor belts for baggage, decorative planter boxes, benches, tables, etc. I prefer the clean, Scandinavian-style, futuristic look myself. |

Man, I wish that 3-D art was available in metal, or resin. I won't deal with Shapeways due to their high international shipping fees, and defects policies (no replacements provided, even if you get bad castings). I could use almost all that stuff. |

If not metal or resin, then what are those Shapeways made from? Are there close-up pictures of what the detail looks like? Thanks, Dan |

I have some of those (and they are awesome!):

"If not metal or resin, then what are those Shapeways made from?". Layered plastic, from those 3-D printers they use. |
javelin98 | 26 Oct 2012 10:20 a.m. PST |
Yes, those are made from an extruded plastic. Thanks for the pics, MrHarold! |

Wow. Awesome stuff! Thanks, Dan |

@javelin98 You ever consider having someone make those in resin or white metal? I'd love to buy a few but shapeways printing costs are pretty nuts. |

I concur, would buy everything I see here, but not though Shapeway. Resin, please. |

Any new SF furnishings since this thread was started? Thanks, Dan TMP link |

I'd like to see some of the above produced in resin, or metal as well, if people can use the Shapeways prints as masters to make molds for them, and they are from the original designers/copyright holders. |
