Here are the game pieces I'm talking about:

I know that the superbattle droids (blue and black, on the left, in the above link) can be used for 15mm, as seen here:

But what about all the little vehicles on the right side of this picture link (black, blue, yellow and red)?

Do people gaming 6mm or even 3mm have any use for them? Perhaps simply as drones, if not as actual vehicles?

Just wondering.

I planned on using some of them as drones for 15mm, but I haven't done anything with them yet.

Cacique Caribe11 Apr 2012 8:13 a.m. PST

Which ones? The little black and blue ships or the red and yellow truck thingies?

Hey Dan. the black and blue ones are AAT's. The other ones are called Juggernaught or Turbo tanks.

John

Good to know what they're called.

Hmm. So the black and blue AAT pieces are these "tanks":

picture

The pieces themselves seem to be about 21mm long, 17 wide and 8mm tall. I guess they are supposed to represent something with a length of around 9.75 meters. Based on the length, I guess that makes the AAT pieces 1/464 scale, right?

While the red and yellow pieces of the Juggernauts seem to be 22mm long, 9mm wide and 10mm tall.

picture

The specs for those read:

Length 49.4 meters
Width 19.6 meters
Height/depth 30.4 meters

So, based on the length alone, that makes the Juggernaut game pieces 1/2245 scale, right?

CC

I have both and which one I would use would depend on the army's "tech level".

Cacique Caribe11 Apr 2012 8:53 a.m. PST

Excellent. I guess I hadn't considered keeping them before, for use as drones for 15mm. I almost threw them out.

Here are some close-up pics of the AAT and Juggernaut pieces:

Thanks,

Both the AATs and Juggernaughts would be quite acceptable for 3mm. The juggernaughts, in particular, would make absolutely killer 3mm sci-fi command vehicles.

Now I'm thinking of getting me some. How can I do that?

Cacique Caribe11 Apr 2012 10:40 a.m. PST

Macunaima,

I bought mine from ebay:

I was after just the super battle droids but got the rest of the stuff too.

Dan

Brother Jim11 Apr 2012 7:34 p.m. PST

How many would you want?

CmdrKiley11 Apr 2012 9:39 p.m. PST

I thought the Clone Troopers and Super Battledroids were closer to 20mm than 15mm.

Cacique Caribe11 Apr 2012 9:52 p.m. PST

Cmdr,

Here's a comparison pic, with one of the battle droids:

I plan to use mine as Cylon-like droids. So it's a good thing that they are a little taller than typical 15mm humans.

I'd probably not want more than a dozen Juggernaughts.

thought was one would just cast and recast the heads until you have all the ones you want and then some

Cacique Caribe06 May 2013 11:34 a.m. PST

Shhh. That sort of talk is taboo in these here parts.

War Monkey06 May 2013 11:41 a.m. PST

You mean "The Shine" don't ya

THEAXECHIPMUNK06 May 2013 6:14 p.m. PST

Cant you get them on some replacement site?

Cacique Caribe06 May 2013 6:39 p.m. PST

Are you talking about the Super Battle Droids?

If so …

My thought as mentioned earlier was to get both the "Risk" Clones and the "Monopoly" Stormtrooper a few of each if they are the right size, then make head spurs from them, make molds and cast them

War Monkey07 May 2013 9:00 a.m. PST

The question is; if anyone has these items could you please post comparison picture if you would please

darclegion27 Jun 2013 1:04 p.m. PST

I do have them, I painted and based them. I will take some pics and some comparison shots to say 15mm scale. I will even make some comparison shots of the WOTC SW figures.

IMO they are close to 15mm scale. The vehicles however ard more like 3mm scale or slighly larger…maybe 6mm at the most.

I painted up the Clones and the Battle Droids. I use the Battle droids as Cylons as well.

I will post them later.
