YouTube link I was checking out the trailer and ended up scratching my head. I thought this was supposed to be a prequel to the 1981 John Carpenter classic, but looks somewhat of a prequel and also somewhat of a re-make. Hmmm, and why call it "The Thing" again? Why not "Who Goes There?" or a different title. Maybe something lame like "The Thing 2" |

From what I can tell, that trailer is from Whiteout, not remake/prequel of Thing. Mike |

That trailer isnt the right one. Its a fan made trailer using bits of other movies. |

Just as Chuck said. It's in the description of the video. Fanmade. I do not like it, despite the fact he hopes I do. It's like false advertising. |

"*READ* This is my fan-made trailer for the upcoming movie Re-make/Prequel of "The Thing" (1982) is set to be released April 29th, 2011." Looks like it has clips from White Out and Silent Hill the movie. |

I hope this will at least be decent and not another second rate remake. |

Well the Carpenter "Thing" was also a remake. |

Ehmm, that's true but not second rate ;) |

Does that mean everyone will be Norwegian(Iirc)? |

Does that mean everyone will be Norwegian(Iirc)? According to MacReady, they would be speaking Swedish. "Crazy Swedes!" "They're Norwegian, Mac" |

I just saw the trailer on TV. I am glad it is not a remake (though whether it will be original remains to be seen), as the original has aged well. Great opening scene! |

I have seen the trailer several times. I have seen several characters speak, all plain old English. Does this mean Tom Cruise will make a cameo? |
Space Aardvark | 26 Sep 2011 5:30 a.m. PST |
If Tom Cruise appears in the movie can it be as an amputee for arm chomping effects? Ok, I know he has two arms, but I can always borrow an axe. |

Well, number of the actors are Danes and Norwegians, unlike any of the actors in the 1982 version. |
