Great stuff has been done so far in 28mm, and using figures very close to the characters depicted in the 2002 film:

But has anyone tried gaming a modern or a near-future version of the story using 15mm?

Did you stick to the cottage in the Scottish Highlands setting, and using British troops? Or did you make your own "Dog Soldiers" game out of figures and terrain you already had?

Well, what 15mm wisdom can you share with the rest of us?

Thanks,

Dan

Rebel Minis makes 15mm Werewolves. QRF makes modern British troops. I've played the Two Hour Wargame scenario based on this in 15mm with Rebel Werewolves and US troops.

Here are some of the Rebel critters painted (poor camera work on my part)

I used Rebel Minis werewolves and US SWAT (older version, I think ?) while playing THW's Dog Soldiers scenario/rules. Also, I used Papermakeit's Shuffler program to make the house and garage from the game/movie.

1) What about the 15mm terrain used? Any pics?

2) What 15mm figure did you use for Megan?

Dan – the THW Dog Soldiers scenario takes place in the house and immediate surroundings, plus the garage. I had 2D paper maps of the house and garage and a LEGO car for the getaway SUV. Sorry, no Megan was used. And I don't have any pictures.

Two of the squaddies made it out, Spoon and Terry. Cooper bought the farm on the run to the SUV. Very sad.

'Dogsoldiers' could be seen as a combination of 'Deliverance' with 'Assault on Precinct 13'. Such stories can be set in almost any barely controlled area everywhen the military / police presence is weakening or withdrawing, from Britain in the early stages of Boudica's revolt or South of the Hadrian wall when most of the legions have left, to modern A'stan. French movie 'The 317th Platoon' set in 1954 Indochina is another extremely fine example, but such stories can equally be set in Eastern Russia during Pugachev's uprising, further East in parallel with Michel Strogoff's ride, or 'Back of Beyond' after the Russian Civil War.

If there are any Matchbox ones the right size, I haven't seen them.

Thanks,

Dan
PS. Here's another Dog Soldiers game played using the THW rules:

Nice to see Tels figures getting a wider audience.

Peter Pig do a LWB variant of the Landrover peterpig.co.uk/range17.htm there's one in the group photo halfway down.

A couple of possible Megans over at The Scene. link

Forgot to add, there is an ancient Matchbox model of the Series 1 Landrover but it's long OOP. Might pick a battered one up though. link

QRF will have Landrovers too….
