I think Two Hour Wargames has a scenario for that for 5150 or Chain Reaction. |

Has anyone played it? I'm curious to know what it was like. Thanks. CC |

IF it BLEEDS it can DIE
. but, IF you just VAPORIZE it at the sub-molecular level
.you only need a dustpan to clean up with afterwards
(no messy blood splatter, chances of cross-contamination or worrying about things WITHOUT 'blood') Brought to you by ACME PLASMA RIFLES
makers of the SMOKER 6000! 'We go wayyyyyy beyond 'extra crispy'
.and only make the finest plasma rifles with SETTING TWO as STANDARD! When you go 'a-hunting'
be sure to bring us along.. Extra power packs sold seperately in units of three each, wisk brushes and dust pans sold seperately, air-freshner to eliminate that 'burnt fur' smell also available upon request
but zapping targets with two blasts instead of one usually precludes the problem! Don't leave your fortress without it! Slish! |

Now I have seen somewhere a chap who was going the whole 9 yards and the last pic I saw he had scratch built the garage/shed from the film. It was a blog I am sure and was shaping up to be the Dogs Danglies |

Yes, I've done Dog Soldiers-ish games using Chain Reaction rules. It's fun and very silly. The scenario is usually some variant on the soldiers having to rescue some civilians from a building in the centre of the board. The most entertaining game ended in a draw – the soldiers did get off the board in a hotwired car, but there were 4 werewolves hanging onto the roof at the time

The Dog Soldiers scenario stays pretty close to the movie. It's really a blast when you play it and the players haven't seen the movie before. |

Interseting about 'Fresh Meat' what is it with the Brits and the Yanks in cheap horror movie sequels? 28 weeks later, Fresh Meat
the British single-handedly take on the forces of evil, then the yanks arrive _Late_ and get their asses whupped too, having refused to listen to the experienced british survivors. Are we attempting to expunge some deep feeling that secretly we rather wish the Nazis had cleaned the cocky Yanks clocks in Northern France? I am being serious here

nonono doc the point is in the REAL world they turnd up late but did the job super, making us look bad. In our Horror movies they turn up late and get whupped. I think we are compensating for something

capncarp | 14 Nov 2008 11:02 a.m. PST |
Yeah, maybe it was like that, Sane, but nowadays us Yanks'll outsource the job to China, or Guatemala or India and let them handle the dirty jobs. And then complain when things go south. |

CEECEE, i played a DOG SOLDIERS scenario out several times, from several point of view.
a. the SAS mission. what a bloood bath! the game was obviously as deadly as the evidence at the scene of their last stand suggested. only not one SAS soldier survived.
b. the LADS "bait" mission, including havng nothing but blanks, flares, and flash bangs. sigh, seems that those itty bitty SA-80s even with an attached bayonet places a soldier withieasy ripping, tearing distance of the werewovles. again with no bullets, and no walls to help them , the tommies were pink misted in no time after contact was made.
c. the LADS geared up with the SAS weapons vs two werewolves in the forest was a nail bitter. especially so when using the PEF (potential enemy force) system; i never knew exactly what was out there until the poo hit the fan blades. tommies "killed" one werewolf and drove off the other but 2 tommies were KIA and two tommies were WIA and out of the fight! made contact with good looking in the landrover, and sped away to her farmhouse with a werewolf hanging onto the back and smacking out windows until a tommies put a shotgun in its mouth and blew its brains out.
d. the LADS at the farmhouse were barely holding their own and then good looking she revealed herself to be a real bitch during one of the werewolf assaults. . . and that was that!
e. however two new folks joined the family, so it was not a case of excessive werewolf death. . . .
played with ATZ), CR2, and CR3 solo with minime and mates vs the THWG engine and it was a blast.
i did everything in 28mm scale on a 4ft x 4ft table and changed the terrain to match up with the action scene. BROOKS MINIATURES modern TOMMIES, werewolves in werewolf form were RAL PATHAS and GRENADIERS s; good looking was a WZ woman PC (cannot remember the name) and a really bitchin' looking RAL PARTHA WEREWOLF from the OOP RAL PARTHA modern day werewolf and vampire horror line. landrover was a 28mm scale HMMV made out of cardboard, building were from my own home made 28mm scale collection with removable roofs.
this is an very fun scenario to play!

arabianknight | 01 Feb 2010 6:26 a.m. PST |
Dan, yes it did, but I thought I'd take my plans from the Two Hour Wargames scenario (Ed provided document links here TMP link as it was a) simpler and b)would lead to more action. I'm using this as a gateway into THW (both for myself and hopefully others) so the more action the better! |
