What's available these days, or may become available very soon (that you know of), that could be used for "Neo-Soviet" Russians of, say, 20 years from now (2030)? Thanks. Dan TMP link TMP link TMP link |

Note: Poor Uesugi has been asking for them for something similar for quite some time now (though more modern/contemporary than near-future in his case) . . . TMP link TMP link Anyway . . . these are going to be my "Wolverines": rebelminis.com/15poapsu.html Dan |

Given that Russian equipment looks pretty much EXACTLY like it did 20 years ago at the moment, I'd say order some Modern 15mm Sov stuff! |

LOL. That would be so sad to see, in 2030: picture link By the way, has everyone seen the previews of the new Australian version of the Red Dawn concept, "Tomorrow, When The War Began"? imdb.com/title/tt1456941 link Dan PS. Or, if not for a US invasion, then how about for near-future Fuel Wars? TMP link |

I've used FOW Soviets for mine, with some Old Crow vehicles and a Reaper CAV mech. I used the scout troops and Cossacks, and stripped out any that didn't have an SMG, then painted them in generic olive drab. A friend of mine did similar with the FOW Soviet engineer troops (the ones with body armour), and painted them in an orangey red – they look great as low-tech future troops. |

Luckily for you and I Dan, Rebel Minis MAY have some ultra-modern russkies coming out in August. I didnt want to ruin their surprise but since you asked I thought I d tell you. Good news for many of us! Hopefully Chechens will follow on later this year or early next. As an aside, I have submitted the following 15mm lines to the Eureka 300 (15mm) club: 15mm Ultra-Modern Russians 15mm Chechens 15mm Eastern European Nato w/ Fritz Helmet and AK's. Nic from Eureka is out of town so they havent been posted yet. I will most certainly start a new thread once (if) they get approved and go up for pre-order. I look forward to your support and input on those 3 lines ;-) |

I know that I would like some futuristic-looking Ruskies myself. I'd also like some vehicles that look they were built by Russians in the future. -Eli |

Eli, How far in the future? Are you thinking what I'm thinking, something not too distant, say, around 2030? Basically recognizable, but definitely not today? Dan |

Yea Dan, I think I pestered Rebel enough about it they finally decided to make some just to shut me up :D "I'd also like some vehicles that look they were built by Russians in the future" I would email Combat Wombat. Hes back in production and I'm sure he would be receptive. Ive heard lots of requests at TMP for Soviet/Russian oriented NF/SF tanks. |

Yes Dan, eaxtly that. I want them to have a descendant of the the AK family, maybe in bullpup and with an integral GL. Helmet with data system. Maybe hi-tech body armor. But recognizable as "Russian". Email me off forum if you want. As for CW, he may be back but his site isn't back up. I think he was going through another move too. -Eli |
