I am starting to like these minis very much. Nice painting by-the-way, and it looks like you're having lot of fun!

Well done and fast! I just got mine out of the bag several minutes ago. Do you have a time machine or something? ;-)

Hey Guys,
The figs are nice and the pirate bag seems to have no duplicates!
One of the advantages of being only partially employed at the moment is that I have time to finish/start a bunch of projects.
My wife was also kind enough to download some pirate tnes to inspire me.
The ships are taking about 4 hours a piece and the 30 crew about 4 as well.
Bob, I have a scenerio in mind and I'm about 75% of the way there. 4 Pirates ban together to raid an Indian Maharaja!Probably April, May at the latest.

D6,

I'm in awe. Seems like you and your lovely wife are quite a team.

Plus, how can you remain so focused? I'm halfway through something and, lo and behold, a butterfly passes in front of me and I'm already thinking of something else entirely!

Example – I've been trying to figure out how to do this Pirates in a Lost World thing:

Then, just as it's starting to fit together in my mind, I came across a couple of articles on a Pirate Queen in Hong Kong:

And there goes my original idea, out the window.

So, Master, how do I attain your level of success?

Listen well Grass hopper,

First make sure that you have a couple of history books on the subject and novels, especially novels. Theme music or audio books should be playing while you paint.

Also I have recently found that writing down a scenerio
helps you to set an attainable goal. In my case 4 ships full of pirates, merged with my India terrain.

Get the figures ASAP! Paint while the iron is hot!
Heck I've actually been over the love affair by the
time some figs have arrived.

Also make terrain! It adds the visual effect but without
the concentration of figure painting.

Perusing magazines is BAD! TMP Hobby news is very very BAD!

And last but not least,
Remember,
that you can always finish it next year!
SO go buy that new period~!

Most wise, Master. Most wise.

I will attempt to follow in your footsteps.
