That's an interesting story. Thanks for sharing that. Makes for a great pulp scenario.

On a side note, we received our Wako Pirate greens yesterday – all 27. They should be out in late April/early May.

Wako Pirates! Darn Steve I just might have to start back up with miniatures! Any plans for 25mm Junks and ships? How about a madam widow Zheng? Pirates of Series of CCGs had a card for her!

CC, just where do you find these things?

They're always fascinating.

I heard about her in a Chinese history class

Fascinating stuff – makes you think what it takes to be a "successful" pirate

nycjadie17 Mar 2010 8:27 a.m. PST

James – We're still working on a resin junk or two. They will best fit 13th-17th century ships to fit in with the Wako and less 18th-19th century.

We're also working on resin boats for our Somali pirates (along with 8 more pirates).

What's great about the pirates is you don't need that many models to play a game. We're considering some rules for the Wako that will take into account swimming.

Best,
Steve

Steve: I hope you you are going to have pictures of the pirates on your site. I've been really wary of buying them from Scheltrum because of the lack of pictures. If anyone has pictures of these (Scheltrum) I'd like to see them. TIG

was she related to Sun Kyur shi eyp?

"I hope you you are going to have pictures of the pirates on your site."

Absolutely, we will have pics of all figures we sell on the website. Sometimes I post pictures of the greens, but in order to do these justice, I'm going to wait until I get the masters back, in approximately 1 month.

I was discussing the Scheltrum Wako at Cold Wars with someone and the consensus is that the heads will be a bit large compared to ours, so they won't really match well.

Best,
Steve

Hmm. Anyone making any new 15mm Chinese/Japanese pirate figures, and vessels for them?

Steve: I can't wait or can wait depending on how you look at it. I just ordered some Monks from FRP they are closing out their Tag inventory and are seeling them for half price. And after these I guess I'll have to break down and order some Perry figures. I didn't think that I would ever say that. Have a good one. TIG

Steve,

How will they match up with Perry figures which I know you are a big fan of?

I'm sorry to hijack this thread!

Cavalcade's Wako will fit in well with the Perry samurai (I have them all) as well as Kingsford Miniatures' samurai. For full disclosure, I distribute Kingsford Miniatures in the U.S.

They will also match well with our Ming Chinese. We'll have a couple more packs of Ming coming out in the next 6-7 weeks or so.

The Wako can also fight the Choson (Perry's) or Portuguese explorers.

I wonder why Jack Aubrey never ran into her?

"I'm sorry to hijack this thread!"

That's okay. I guess we can discuss the Pirate Queen some other day, on a different thread. :(

Apparently, she's had fans for quite a while.

PS. Maybe "Mistress Ching", from Pirates of the Caribbean, is styled after her:

Actually, Tia did a pretty good job playing an evil leading lady in True Lies.

Not being overly impressed by these resin sampans . . .

. . . I went ahead and made this one, initially planned for post apocalyptic use:

However, it looks like it would fit better if used with Chinese/Japanese pirates, don't you think?

Anyway, after constant urging from my wife and nephew, I went ahead and painted the boat. It isn't really sealed with anything, just paint.

Is the paint now going to present a problem in making a mould?
