Wasn't Cowboys vs. Dinosaurs a "Boot Hill" scenario from an ancient issue of Dragon Magazine, maybe somewhere in the 30's or 40's? Referring to issue number, not year

I believe you are thinking of Big Lizzie from an old issue of Space Gamer. Cross-statted for several Western RPGs of that vintage. |

CC, on March 31st I'm running a Cowboys vs. Dinosaurs vs. Robots vs. Indians vs. Aliens game. I will be taking lots of pictures. Savage Worlds rules. Minis include Cowboy Wars, Great Rail Wars, Reaper, Ral Partha and probably some other companies I can't think of. |

I'm painting as fast as I can! I think the factions will be: 2 groups of dino-rustlers (the pics you've seen), one on raptors and then the Triceratops w/ howdah 1 band of indians on allosaurs 1 posse of lawmen on dinos and steam-walkers 1 mad scientist with his automatons 1 away party of aliens 1 gang of cowboy raptors (not cowboys on raptors) BTW, sorry I couldn't make it last night. Hope you had fun, and I'm looking forward to the St. Patrick's Day game. |

Seems like a natural to me. Basically the American equivalent of the British Victorian Lost Worlds scenario. And let's not forget that John Carter was a gentleman from Virginia! I would think that Saurian Safari, Mammalian Mayhem, or any of the other pre-existing rules sets would be just fine. |

Or you have the fight between Jubal(?) Sackett and the mammoth in L'Amour's To the Far Blue Mountains." @Impala, Yes there was a Dragon Magazine adventure for Boot Hill where cowboys had to find the T-rex. Rod |

@Impala, the article was in Dragon #46 and titled "This here's Tyrannosaurus Tex" link As a Green Bay Packer fan, my first reaction to the thread title was glee at gaming T-Rex munch on the Dallas Cowboys! |

Hey, I will be involved in Hexxenhammers Wild Wild West game. We will be using Showdown and Deadlands Reload. And yha, last night's game was a blast. We used Showdown for a 1933 Pulp game. We had Nazitionals, Zombies, a movie star (secret agent), Grancho Marks, Keystone Cops, US marines, Elliott Ness and Keystone Cops. The Keystone Cops dispatched my more Zombies than my marines did. |
