Hi!

I've just bought some of Ground Zero Games Stargate-esque 15mm figures (jackal headed egyptians, etc)

My question is, are there any compatible fantasy/sci-fi miniatures by other manufacturers that I could perhaps use as Goa'uld, or jaffa support weapons, basically anything else that has been produced that will enhance the collection?

Thanks :)

Given that a Goa'uld could have any (ancient) historical or mythological background there should be a wealth of options (though you might struggle for singles as many 15mm ranges come in 8's or more).
Support weapons are a bit more troublesome. It shouldn't be difficult to kit-bash a support blaster (just a bigger staff on a mount), or for that matter to kit-bash death gliders and tel'tak. The problem iscrew. I don't think the 25mm sci-fi egyptians I've got would lend themselves to conversion so I suspect the 15mm are less so.

Hope that helps though.

I plan to use the Critical Mass Games Protolene jackals and their support weapons with my Sci Fi Egyptians. For horde – Peter Pig Ancient Egyptians.

15mm.co.uk do a flying disk with a laser cannon and crew. Always fancied this as a Sci Fi Egyptian support weapon/flyer.

Cheers

GZGs Egytians are large, 20mm to top of head. Chariots Myth Egyptians are small, ~16mm to top of head, so the size difference is very obvious.

One thing to look at, although it will not be usable as a fig in your game in most cases, is Croc Games stuff. If you get some of their less dynamically posed figs and paint them as stone they will make great collosuses and other forms of statury that can really enhance the look of your gaming table.

Looks like I may just have to paint a couple of the basic jaffa differently to represent jaffa leaders instead. Or cut their heads off and replace them with another!

I was thinking of one scenario as having a sarcophagus at one of the table, and the SG teams have to fight their way through Jaffa to destroy the coffin with a sleeping goa'uld inside. They will have so many turns to accomplish this, and the 'god' awakens from his slumber. Would've been nice to have a goa'uld figure though!! :(

Old Crow do their Flyers.

They call them tanks and APC's, if I recall correctly, but they look more like flying craft to me.

Thanks all for the suggestions

Top Gun Ace: I had a look at those gliders, and they look superb. I think I'll definitely be getting some of those. Will definitely need some support weapons for the SG teams then…

CC: I had a look at some of those before posting, but thanks for bringing them to my attention again! :)
