Ok. If this idea has already been discussed, please disregard. How does this sound to you guys? If, according to the film, German archaeologists found the darn thing in 1928 . . . What if Hitler had taken hold of it, figured out how it worked and started sending out his own SG teams in the early 40s, looking for technology to defeat the Allies, and maybe also set up off-world bases where they might escape to if things got really bad . . . The Allies finally capture it, but not before a large number of Nazi troops and leaders (maybe even Hitler himself) go through it, blow up the powering and dialing mechanism, and are never seen again. So, it would not be out of place to find worlds dominated by Nazis, or even a Goauld-Nazi alliance*, right? Thanks. CC * Hitler might still be keeping himself alive in a Goauld sarcophagus! |

You could do a good spin off game where the allies capture the device and have your heroes going through the gate looking for the escaped Nazi's could be a whole lot of games/possibilities to be had in this idea. Or you could have the Nazi's bring back some super science and have your heroes try and capture the new plans. Thanks for the great idea might add it to a campaign ourselves. |

ya gotta add 'Zombies' somewhere into the equation
since 'Nazis' and zombies, mobsters and aliens/greys all tend to (usually) be the BAD GUYS (and gals)
maybe you could have Female Amazonian Nazi Zombie G'oauld-hybrid storm-trooper aliens
.who have a whole star-system/sector to themselves
.(Hitler's brain was cloned into a female body of course!)
The rest
I leave to your imagination! oh
and they also opened a 'dark portal' to those things in the first Hellboy movie
because you've GOTTA have some space-tentacle/alien elder-god-things

Actually there are already people doing that. The Stargate universe says the Germans got a DHD that was held in Berlin and captured by the Russians at the end of the war. The US had the actual Gate that went with it and during the war tried to use it. One episode shows archive footage of a man in a deep sea diving suit walking into the active gate and then being lost when his air hose and rope are broken as he falls through the gate. I have long posited that the Germans would haved used their DHD with a Stargate of their own design to travel to other worlds. The Aasgard would have been naturals to link up with the Germans and it would explain the Foo Fighters near the end of the war reported by Allied bomber crews flying over Germany. There is a book you need to read: The Hunt for Zero Point. It talks about the The Bell project, the foo fighters and all of that. It postulates with creaky evidence that the Nazi's were close to haveing lasers, robots and time/dimentional travel. It talks about various important Nazis that were involved. If you take the story as the seed for your project there would be just a few key Nazis who made it past Operation Paperclip (a real op btw) who end up having to rebuild. Assume a generation or two is spent rebuilding and rearming. The guy most likely to have survived using The Bell would be Hans Kammler ( link ) and from what I've seen of the bad guys in Stargate he would make the worst of them feel a little inadequate in their level of evil. Great gaming idea. |

The Bell in wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bell Yeah, it's all probably bunk. But what a great story-starter! A mysterious Nazi wonder-weapon. Vanished Nazi scientists. Anti-gravity. Time travel. Man, you could have some serious fun with this idea. |

I was just seeing the start of the film and, when I caught the scene with the original German dig in Egypt, it just dawned on me . . . why not get Nazis involved. It reminded me a lot of the German digs in the first Indiana Jones film (Raiders). And the idea of Hitler extending his life indefinitely via a Goauld sarcophagus is a bit scary*, but logical (if you accept the initial premise of the Nazis using the device in the first place). CC * Particularly in view of how prolonged use makes people act worse (I think I saw that in an SG-1 episode). |

I knew it. Goauld sarcophagi are not good for prolonged use . . . "The use of a Goa'uld sarcophagus when one is already healthy has significant side-effects: it heals abnormalities such as vision problems; it causes addiction, altered mental state, arrogance, power hunger, etc. Many of these things are typical of the Goa'uld. The Tok'ra do not use the sarcophagus. They believe that is takes something from you -- "kahlesh," the soul. It is partially what make the Goa'uld as bad as they are." link "Sarcophagus Coffin-like chamber capable of vastly extending life, healing almost any illness, repairing grievous injuries, and even reviving the recently dead.[23] However, frequent use of the sarcophagus becomes addictive and has a deleterious effect on the mind;[56] This is a main factor in why the Goa'uld are evil, and why the Tok'ra refuse to use the sarcophagus.[41] Sarcophagi are sometimes used to preserve individuals for thousands of years,[38][15] although there is a limit to how long a sarcophagus can extend a person's life.[8] The first sarcophagus was created by the Goa'uld Telchak, using a less potent version of the energy emitted by an Ancient healing device.[22]" link "What he didn't realize was that the device was compromising his brain chemistry, giving him a false sense of well-being while impacting his thought processes. He acted like someone who was on mood-altering drugs. He was delusional and forgetful, as indicated by his nearly forgetting to release the rest of SG-1 from their forced labor. Carter remembered during the stress of their labor that the Tok'ra did not use the sarcophagus because of its affects on users. When Daniel finally returned to the SGC, he began to experience severe withdrawal symptoms. Janet Fraiser found his endorphins had been very high on his return, then had begun to fluctuate wildly. His organ function was also compromised. Daniel felt a compulsion to return to the planet to see Shyla and use the sarcophagus again. Out of his right mind, he broke out of the infirmary violently, and O'Neill had to convince him to give himself up. He recovered and persuaded Hammond and O'Neill to let SG-1 return to P3R-636, where he then convinced Shyla to destroy the sarcophagus so that she could rule fairly and with a sane mind. She destroyed it with a staff weapon blast. (2.05 "Need") When SG-1 met the Tok'ra for the first time, Martouf confirmed that they do not use the sarcophagus, because they believe it would drain the good from their hearts. Daniel remarked that he could vouch for that belief. (2.11 "The Tok'ra Part 1") " link Also: stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Need Imagine what it would do to a few already-bad nazis!!! CC |
Cacique Caribe | 18 May 2009 11:04 a.m. PST |
So, Hitler wouldn't need to have a Goauld within just to extend his life for hundreds of years. He could simply use a sarcophagus like the older man in that SG episode ("Need"). I think one episode quote has him at 700 years of age! ------------------------------------ Or . . . what if the real Hitler had been a Goauld that took over him? Perhaps while he was visiting a museum as a youth (and opening a canopic jar)? link That would mean that he Goauld could leave his human husk at any time and move on to another and much healthier individual, right? Which one would make the most sense to you guys??? CC |

Yep, that'd be right. Bring a whole new meaning to "New Hitler". lol. Actually the last part sounds the best for a possible pulp game. First option: Hideously more evil. I dunno why
it seems like it. Second option: Most interesting. It would lend credence to the Hitler rumors after the war. The symbiote (Goa'uld) would likely pick a similar looking host, thus=the lookalikes and habits/personalities,etc. |

The Nazi's were rumored to have a base in the Antarctic where they survived after the war and perfected their UFO's etc. There was a US exploratory expedition years later; a supposed cover-up for a final eradication of the Nazi threat. Lots of good real history you can intertwine with this (hot springs, missing radio air time)for colour, but anyways.. The Antarctic base in New Swabia is where my rpg campaign leads. AND There is a Stargate in the antarctic, supposedly undiscovered prior to the SG1 episode, but who knows? Maybe just unmoved. After millenia it should have been hundreds of metres underground in ice like the "Outpost" but was in fact probably only fifty feet under. So you see when the US came to finish off the Nazis, Hitler and his friends had a back door to escape! And that's when they met the Cybermen

The second pic there is from SG-A, those are the Genii, IIRC. Not Nazis
but they are pretty bad
The first pic with the German helmets, body armor, MG34s, MG42s, AK47s all in black, look like from a SF video game, I can't remember the name. Those guys must be playing dress up or some sort of SF re-enactment kinda' thing
But they do look cool and like futuristic SF Nazis
And IMO
Teal'c/SG-1 & the SG-A Tms would kick Nazi butt ! But for gaming purposes, the Nazi/Stargate paradigm certainly would give you lots of options
Nazis vs. Goa'uld Warlords & Jaffa would be an interesting game
The Jaffa have aircraft & heavy versions of the Staff Weapon + orbital fire support. But no AFVs of any sort. At least I have not seen any in all the shows I've watched. But it would be interesting to play E-100s, Maus, etc. going toe-to-toe with the Jaffa. But even if the Nazis gain air parity with the Jaffa Death Gliders & Al'kesh
the firepower from the orbiting Ha'tak mothership(s) could shut down a Nazi armored assault
maybe

Wow. This is creepy. Almost my exact idea here: "Berlin, March 1934. Adolf Hitler was taking a personal tour Berlin's Museum of Egyptology when he suddenly lost his temper and ordered everybody to leave him alone. As he walked alone amongst the displays he noticed a particular coptic jar. Compared to the others it was quite ordinary and this made it different. Hitler picks it up to look at it more closely when his hand begins to shake and he drops the coptic jar which breaks. Suddenly a strange snake like creature erupts from the broken jar and leaps at Hitler. Later Hitler is walking from the Berlin Museum of Egyptology with a small box under his arm with his entourage trailing behind him. To some he looks different more virile as if a new wave of strength has overtaken him as he strides towards the car. Little do they know that Hitler is no longer one man but two himself and the Goa'uld symbiote, Kanith a young and very junior Goa'uld who had displeased Ra and been imprisoned. Now he was free and a leader amongst men." link One more person with a similar idea: "Now, how can I work that into my pulp campaign
. Especially if you ignore certain elements of movie and series. I'd personally want to make space travel a WHOLE lot slower. This means that having Nazi Gou'ald is certainly a valid method of invading a planet as compared to out-and-out pyramid-ship invasion. Particularly if you get a nice manipulative system lord like Ba'al: he impresses the heck outta Hitler with his technology, showing just the barest minimum. Shares some, says: "We want to have dealings with Earth, but only once the Reich rules the world, as we are only willing to deal with the Aryans, as they are the only ones worthy to deal with us." Send a couple of lieutenants to 'help' them with, say, planning. Pretend to be advisory only. Infect key cabinet members. Prolly leave the real big names alone for now, as that leads to potentially being found out. But the end plan? Ten, fifteen years down the track, Hitler's in charge of the world, and a goa'uld! Ba'al rules earth. System lords live for thousands of years, why can't they be patient? :) If this plan fails, he can always just nuke it from orbit to be sure, then move in and scoop up the survivors. And bang, you have nazi goa'uld, plus humans, all as bad guys!" link Wminsing: "The more we discuss this idea the more I like it! Adds a new and in some ways more insidious threat to the Stargate universe." I'm glad it presents additional gaming potential. That was my goal when I started this thread. Though, it seems obvious now, I was not the first one to come up with it. :( Wminsing: "Also, we need those future-Nazi's in 15mm. ;)" I agree with you completely!!! picture How about it Rebel Minis, GZG, Khurasan, etc.? Ja! Das ist korrect! But when I was there the ammunition cache was locked and the barracks was full of ice-encrusted Nazi zombies. Fortunately I was rescued by a friendly Malamute. Story seed: The US operation to wipe out the Nazi's was Operation Highjump. It was during a flight over a snowless area dominated by hot springs that Admiral Byrd's running commentary via radio suddenly stopped. It is during this time that he supposedly landed and spoke with the Nazi's. Here's how I think the convo went. "Hey Nazi's, surrender." "No." "Okay then." Later; quite a while later, an atomic bomb was supposedly set off on Prince Edward Island south of South Africa. This is called the Vela incident. "The Bell" is obviously some sort of power source, the Nazi's probably daisy chained these to power the Stargate, the Vela incident might be an example of one of these exploding accidentally, hence its removal to an island quite a distance from the mainland. Hey CC, I'm using the standard "Nazi's survived the war" story with cyborg Hitler as their leader. My rpg action campaign includes characters from every corner of pop culture with a heavy horror-espionage theme. Ala Resident Evil. My players are chiefly concerned with loot and character enhancement. I use Marvel Super Heroes rules so there's lots of room for improvement. Background: An ancient virus uncovered by Prospero, Duke of Milan back in the day and brought to Venice gave rise to an upper class of "vampires". At first the virus that Prospero spread was supposed to be a blessing but the more hedonistic the nobles became the more they changed, until eventually they became more bestial (werewolves). A purging occurred and vampires disappeared into myth. Then, at the outset of WW2 the Nazi's rediscovered the virus and began enhancing their soldiers (Operation Werwolf). Through thorough research they discovered that Prospero had discovered the virus (or was infected) in Antarctica during one of his mad voyages. The Nazi's build a base there and start drilling, slowly uncovering the ancient cities of the Elder Things. The Nazi's also use this ancient viral-tech to create zombie guardians who wait in the ice for intruders, no one leaves alive. I've also included a shoggoth mimic in a cage as a nod to Carpenter. First he looks like a nazi but as you get closer he looks like a harmless Australian engineer or something. "Hey buddy, let me out." Clues to lead to Ant. encounter: My storyline begins with Russian vampires hunting Nazi werewolves. As part of a greater plan the werewolves are selling their infection to criminal gangs. Players kill werewolves, find a tattoo of the flag of New Swabia and go to the Antarctic. (You could also do this with programmed zombies. They deliberately infect as many people as possible to distract authorities from greater schemes.) In addition to the armed ice zombies there is also a large hanger filled with zombie by-products. If players open the door the entire place is overrun in a short time. Players may kidnap Dr.Phibes who will work for them. They can set off a Bell device to destroy the base (it is guarded by a hunchback mutant), however they will discover that several Bells are missing and Hitler and his cronies have escaped. Players may escape in a Haunebu which will break down and crash shortly after they escape ( I don't want people in flying saucers all the time). Enemies: Soldiers, werewolves, vampires (officers), enhanced ice zombies, normal zombies, shoggoths, mutants. Rewards: Virus samples, Dr. Phibes, Atomic devices, Haunebu anti gravity motor (half functional) and vital intel on Super soldier projects which leads to next scenario. I've got more info on how virus works etc. but I don't want to bore anyone more than I have. :) A little bit more info in Archived Data on my game site. link P.S. this storyline is upcoming, my peeps are in a prelim stage fighting Umbrella stooges. |

Having recently acquired the Projekt X range I have been building up back story, and wondering what to do with "the future" beyond the obvious Antartic and artic bases stories. I had considering "going to other worlds" but not really dug into the detail I like some of the ideas here and it shows there are no new ideas really regarding these stories! |
BlackWidowPilot | 20 Sep 2009 11:33 a.m. PST |
A lesser known miniature game is GalakticTacTic which has as one of its backstory factions (IIRC) "Konfederation X," which is nothing less than the descendants of refugee Nazi elite and scientists who tried to escape to the moon in the "Dora" flying saucer when Berlin fell in 1945. They were captured by a scout vessel from a more advanced ET civilization that had been watching humanity with benevolent intent, and sought to rehabilitate their Nazi detainees. It all went very wrong. The Nazis being Nazis, resisted at first, then appeared to start cooperating with the ETs. Long story short, they gained access to the superior technical know-how of their captors, and took advantage of the fact that the ETs were both rather naive about the Nazis capacity for deviousness and perfidy, and overthrew their captors with advanced weaponry that the Nazis had been secretly building using their new-found technical knowledge. After taking over the joint, the Nazis proceeded to increase their population through cloning and genetic engineering techniques, and by the time the rest of humanity reached the stars and began colonizing other worlds, meeting new friends and exotic ET sentients (and trying to exterminate them with varying degrees of success), they bump into some "old friends" with equally old bad habits, made far, far worse by the realization through alien technology of their perverted dream of a "Master Race" through cloning and genetic engineering. Of course, the "Konfederation X" irritates *everyone* they interact with, as their first inclination is to declare anyone they meet "untermenschen" and either try to enslave them or exterminate them outright if the whole enslavement attempt fails due to the opposition offering effective military resistance. I can see where one could easily take the concept of a Stargate and use it accordingly
