Would love to see these in both 15mm, and 25mm scale, with their various weapons options. I won't spoil it by adding more info, for those that haven't seen the movie yet. Of course, the Cylon Centurions for the latest TV series are sadly MIA too. Was hoping to have access to some "Nylons" by now, in 15mm, and 25mm scales. |

nope Spugs just dont have the right look. |
Jakar Nilson | 18 Aug 2009 7:09 p.m. PST |
In 25mm, I've got some BattleMechs (clicky-type) that might pass for their bio-suits (or is that an "Alive in Joburg"-specific term? ) TMP link |

Spugs don't have the right look, but they're perfect (IMHO) for "alterna-Prawns". They have weapons and SPUGnauts that are analogous to the D9 kit we see. |
Dentatus | 18 Aug 2009 8:05 p.m. PST |
My first thought was Tyranid Lictors, sans the scything claws. |
Sumo Boy | 18 Aug 2009 8:56 p.m. PST |
I agree the Spugs fit the bill "in spirit" if not in form. The Cogs from AT43 look more like the prawn, but they're all "clean" and well-equipped figures. |

Top Gun Ace nylons are out there link to Distant Shores Miniatures |

Just make sure PF sculpts them. That guy has a talent for aliens. Head over to the 15mm Sci Fi Yahoo Group to see what I'm talking about. best, JBR |

the new cogs for at43 look just like them if they have armor on. |

picture picture picture picture link d-9.com Enjoy! I don't think there's anything out there right now that fits the bill (in 28mm or 15mm), but here are other insectmen options: TMP link TMP link But, if someone were to make something "inspired by" the D9 "Prawns" (unarmored and with a variety of weapons – some improvised – in 28mm and or 15mm), I would certainly buy lots of them. I love how the Prawn are not just insects. They have eye with iris and lense, tentacle mouth parts, as well as antennae and exoskeletons. -Eli |

Links to PF's stuff. The guy can push putty, especially for his first try at 15mm. link link Best, JBR |

Alien Legion! Well done PF! Well we can see where darkson designs got their new line from! |
Altius | 19 Aug 2009 10:54 a.m. PST |
They kinda reminded me of those old Dreenoi from the Starguard rules: link I used to have a million of those when I was a kid. |
Cacique Caribe | 19 Aug 2009 11:09 a.m. PST |
Removing the antennae and modifying the face of the Dreenoi with a little putty wouldn't be a problem. I really wish the knees were opposite direction. Then they would be almost exactly like the D9 "Prawns". CC |

@28mm Man – I think what 15mm/28mm needs is a multi-racial faction for sci-fi. Somethign that could sub in for the Alien Legion, or somethign akin to the aliens from Halo. -Eli |
daddyslittlemen | 19 Aug 2009 2:27 p.m. PST |
If someone made these in 15mm I'd use them as Kafers (from 2300 AD) as well. |
Dentatus | 19 Aug 2009 4:50 p.m. PST |
I'd buy every one of PF's 28mm Sci Fi figs. Dynamic, detailed, loads of character. I'm sold. |

WOW! Those (PF) look really good! |

DWW just showed me these. I love those legs: picture link Why can't today's scultors get the legs right? CC |
Cacique Caribe | 21 Aug 2009 7:51 a.m. PST |
These look very similar, which would preclude any problems for anyone who wanted to sculpt something "inspired by" the D9 aliens: picture Whatever rules are done (for any figures "inspired by" D9) should take into account this amazing ability: picture picture And the figures would need to represent a creature nearly 8 feet tall, right? picture CC |

I would love some D9 aliens figures in 28mm, at the moment, not mant new ideas for aliens or any in plastic etc.. Just had a cool idea.. Plastic box set with 20+ " mars attacks " aliens with clear helmets
? Sorry about that, its just not many aliens around but space orks etc, be nice if we could see some cheap plastic stuff soon and not just waterloo etc.. |
soulman | 04 Sep 2009 10:17 a.m. PST |
what about gene stealers, remove the extra arms, cut the body from the legs and re-glue move upright..? Its a sham i cannot find any genestealers around my house.. :-( |
