Many manufacturers have in the past made token packs of insect-men for sci-fi gaming. Some of the ones I have seen have very thick limbs.

But does anyone really make a FULL range of insect-men?

I really wish someone would make something like this, in metal, for 28mm gaming:

An entire range of caste systems (flying soldiers, ground soldiers, workers, overseers, etc.), with 3 to 5 different variants for each caste, would be fantastic!

The only insect-man range I know of is the range that Spriggan Miniatures does…the Spugs. I'm sure that they may be a bit Sci-Fi for what you want (looking at the pix).

Have you checked out the 'Dreenoi' from Revieresco at

100 kingdoms has a range of insectiods.

Scheltrum Miniatures has a range of Selanites in their VSF range not quite the same but they are bugs

I wish someone made insectiod miniatures that look more like the Vrusk from Star Frontiers.

Irregular but the range doesn't go as far as you want…

Maybe combining ranges? Not all "Insect Races" have to be hive like/clone sof the same body type.

I second the Selenites; they're quite cool.

On my to do list is primitive/fantasy spugs with chitinous shields and stag beetle style staff weapons and blades, I know that doesn't help much right now…but it's the thought that counts :)

Eureka do a couple such models.

I got some insect figures from eureka and they are real cute! They are wearing business suits though so might not be what you are after

The Star Wars Collectable Miniature game has some of the geonosians included in the Clone Strike set, may be a little small and not enough posses but possibly cheap enough for rank and file until you find what your after.

I always loved the old Arduin Phraint:

Sometimes accused of being the "rabbit eared" insectman.

Although not all quite humanoid, you may find something of use in the Starship Troopers line.

For humanoid, you may want to check out the Infiltrator bug

or maybe the Hunter/Assassin bugs.

Wow! Thanks everyone for the info.

I too am interested in getting enough figures/poses of a bug clan to form a nice skirmish group – something out of the ordinary. Great thread and posts. I especially liked the Selenites and the Dreenoi.

Does anyone carry Eureka's bug eyes here in the states?

Eureka's US Outlet is Brigade:

You can also order from Eureka and they'll bring your order to Historican for free. Nic is a very nice guy.

Eureka recently opened a US branch:

There was an old manufacturer did a range called 'Lost continent of Thapsus' (or similar) which had insectoids- was it MINIFIGS?

METAL MAGIC made some 28mm insect men figures; I have *one* (1) pose of several, but I have no idea if the moulds are still in existence….
