I don't think I'll ever get into zombies, but I would certainly buy loads of stand-ins for modern Vampires and Lycans (the kind that likes to use guns – with UV and silver nitrate rounds).

But they would have to be something like this (vampires in stylish coats, and the werewolves in poorer but rugged outfits):

It would be awesome to have the Vampires go into those tunnels and sewers, during their attempts to exterminate the Lycans. Of course, that would mean getting some cool 15mm tunnels and sewers.

Or have the Lycans venture out into the city above ground during their counter-raids.

QUESTION:

Who else would buy something like that in 15mm???

Thanks.

CC
PS. By the way, for transformed Lycans, Rebel Minis has two poses available (one is male, the other female): link

Cool idea for sure! I'd buy into it
Does anyone else hate 'lycan?' Why must everything be shortened in an attempt to make it hip/whatever? They're Lycanthropes, damnit! Or werewolves!
Grrr… Sorry… Hijack over :-p

LOL. Same goes for Vamp.

Where I come from vamp means something completely different.

I was thinking of the definition about women.

I'd say the line of Armies of Arcana 'Wolfen' fills half your bill:

especially the berserkes and hunters.

Thanks for the referal Volstagg…. :)

I don't know . . .

Even those Arcana ones seem to have a lot of medieval/fantasy gear on them.

LYCANS

Actually, some of these Rebel Minis hunters may work best as scruffy-looking Lycans:

Not sure if any of these could be used as Lycans:

VAMPIRES

Now . . . Any suggestions on what 15mm figures to get for the slick-looking Vampires (and again, I'm looking for modern)?

Thanks.

If they're vampires, they're *supposed* to suck … blood, at least. [evil grin]

I appreciate your enthusiasm but I would question why this thread had to be necro'ed, when you've got another thread going that deals with the same issue. You don't have to dredge up every thread ever posted concerning your subject du jour in order to make your point. It makes this particular board, which is already rather hard to read, just a bit more so.

I'm not trying to suggest that it's against the TMP rules to do it (AFAIK, though some forums actually time out or ban people who "necro" threads when there is nothing new to add or just because that topic has come up again, and maybe TMP does have some sort of rule on this, I dunno), but it might be worth considering. Thanks.

(edit: looks like you're going to get your wish -- Black Autumn is making them!!! grin )

I don't quite understand the fascination with wanting to only see new topics on the top.

Now, if that's what you want, then an effort should be made to have Bill change the order the topics come up, to be based on the first and not the last posting date. Then you would still have the recent topics on top, and we can still update older ones without interfering with that. Win-win, if you ask me.

Anyway, the day it becomes illegal to update an old thread on TMP (a thread that will only show up with "Underworld" as the search) with one that may not be so obvious, but is very relevant, will be the day I have no further use for this forum.

Why have someone later have to struggle to figure out three or four searches, when the topics are closely related, and could be cross-referenced? Most news websites have tags on older topics, linking them to more recent ones.

I think it cuts back on many people asking questions they don't know have been asked before. And may get people to think "out of the box", as many people get tunnel vision when playing a specific genre.

Some call it necromancy, I simply call it an update and cross-reference.

That's what I thought.

Some call it necromancy, I simply call it an update and cross-reference.

Well, at the distinct risk of being rude, I will follow this up but just this one more time. Again, your enthusiam is great and at times can be infectious too, which is a good thing. But it does at times go, at least IMVHO, a bit too far. This necro is an example -- it wasn't really an update, because the post is about you wanting your latest this and that. Well, you still want it, so no update. No one has committed to making it for you, no one has released it, so there's nothing to update. "We're also discussing this here" isn't really an update.

And why cross reference the same thread if the new thread is also on this board, right at or near the top? What's in it for anyone, except clogging the batch of most recent posts with this old one that has a topic similar to the recent one you've crosslinked to?

You've already started many of the threads on these boards, and you often post almost half of the messages in those threads you start, often it seems obviously to bump them, so popping in to check this particular series of boards often becomes an exercise in sifting through all of your latest, including some that are latest primarily because some other thread (which you also started) is addressing a similar topic so you are "cross-referencing" it.

Again, my intention is NOT to be rude or put you down. As I said hobbies are passions and you are obviously passionate about this. But you might want to just briefly contemplate what your posting habits might mean to people who are not CC, who might just be stopping quickly in to see what's new in the sci fi (or pulp or horror) forums. Not meant with bad intentions, and it might very well just be me but FWIW.

ps: Yes, Black Autumn did seem to rapidly disappear once it was made fairly clear that he was another persona for Big Mean Elf. When someone is promising you everything and it seems too good to be true, it usually is. grin
