Or is this some sort of figure-less RPG, computer or board game?

Smokey Roan18 Apr 2009 7:33 p.m. PST

Don't know. But lets hope they are in any scale besides 1/64 (like their zombies)

:)

Zephyr118 Apr 2009 7:54 p.m. PST

I'm sure there will be a Zombies!!! & Martians crossover game eventually…. ;)

Cacique Caribe18 Apr 2009 8:00 p.m. PST

Well, I guess this other site kinda answers my question:

Contents:
32 map tiles
50 cards
character cards
chits
dice
100 Martians!!!

link

I have a feeling they are all going to be a single pose.

ummm . . . I doubt that computer games or RPG books are considered a choking hazard, like it says on the box in the *original link*, CC.

Bit slow on the uptake today . . . :)

Cacique Caribe18 Apr 2009 8:21 p.m. PST

Well, if it had been a board game . . . it might still have a choking hazard.

This looks like a Zombies variant so I'd expect that you will get 100 Martians, all the same pose, all about 22-22mm high. And I expect the Martians will also be sold separately like the Zombies are.

jpattern218 Apr 2009 9:06 p.m. PST

And they might even do separate bags of 100 glow-in-the-dark Martians at some time.

Cacique Caribe18 Apr 2009 9:20 p.m. PST

Does the plastic they use lend itself to bending positions, such as by heating?

Thanks.

The Twilight Creations Zombies are one pose per set, they make at least three sets, Male Zombie, Female Zombie and Zombie Dog, like a big nasty decomposing German shepherd dog. Also, the Male Zombies come in glow in the dark.

The figures scale well with most 1/72nd scale figures, probably about 23mm tall. The base is a bit on the extra thick side which makes them look a little large.

The article about the Martians said they would come in three poses, which is great.

I have a number of Zombie poses on my blog.

Zombies also come in green.

Also they have blue zombie clowns in the Send in the Clowns expansion.

Gwartizan19 Apr 2009 3:24 a.m. PST

I'd have thought with the Martians the size issue is less of a problem than with the zombies, seeing as the classic 'greys' are often portrayed as being rather diminutive

Psycho Rabbit19 Apr 2009 7:16 a.m. PST

The link above states they'll be in three poses. The plastic used is the softer variety so I assume it will lend to forming from heat.

The game itself will have three different martian figures and two different player figures.

Thanks so much everyone!

they sorta remind me of 'Crypto 137/138' from DESTROY ALL HUMANS!!! but that's ok by me! and three poses? and they can be 'heated/bent' reformed? (cut and pasted like clixies perhaps???

By the way…once 'done' posing/painting etc…can 'dipping' them in several coats of 'future' or something make them less 'bendy'/while protecting the paint job???

I KNOW there's gotta be a 'way'…SLISH!!!

More 'martians' PLEASE!?

Yes, the Twilight Creations figures are a soft rubbery plastic, and is easy to bend or customize with heat, X-Acto blade, clippers, hot knife, etc. Super glue has worked well on mine when rejoining parts.

Be aware that the female zombie is carrying a head in one hand. If you don't want 100 identical female zombies carrying heads, it's a simple matter to snip off some (or most) of the heads.

Cacique Caribe19 Apr 2009 3:16 p.m. PST

Interesting . . .

I may have to get me a bag or two of their Martians, when they come out in June/July.

Do their figures typically take well to paint?

CC

jpattern219 Apr 2009 7:37 p.m. PST

Mine are unpainted so far, but I know gamers who have painted them with acrylics and dipped them. They looked really good, even with the identical poses.

My plan is to prime some of mine with Krylon spray paint for flexible plastics (various grays, tans, and even a pale sage green), then crudely paint the clothes, and som,e splashes of blood here and there, and dip them. Mount them on metal washers, paint the bases and washers black or dark gray, and game with them.

Cacique Caribe21 Apr 2009 8:33 p.m. PST

I guess I may reconsider and get some of them, even if they're plastic.

Thanks everyone!

I wonder if they'll show a preview of what the figures will look like:

Cacique Caribe25 Jun 2009 1:06 p.m. PST

Has anyone gotten them yet? If so, how do they look?

Their webiste says they should be available June '09:

Now they have a preview of the figures. They have photos of the 3 variants.

What do you guys think of them?

CC

Thieses25 Jun 2009 2:28 p.m. PST

I like them. For the money they are not bad. With all their other Zombies!! games they have sold the figures separately in bags of 100 for $10. USD I could use 100 martians for about $10. USD

Cacique Caribe25 Jun 2009 8:47 p.m. PST

Wow. That would be a veritable horde of Martians!

Cacique Caribe30 Jun 2009 6:20 a.m. PST

I sent an email to Twilight Creations and got a reply . . .

My emai:

Hello,
A lot of us are looking forward to the release of the plastic figures in Martians! Any definite release date yet? Your website simply states June of 09:

Thanks.

Their reply:

Cacique Caribe14 Jul 2009 2:46 a.m. PST

Haven't seen them anywhere yet.

Still being described as a pre-order item:

I guess that, if anything, they've gotta be good for head swaps, right?

JPattern2,

Have you obtained the figures already, and tried to paint them and apply a wash?

If so, could you post photos?

Thanks.

Cacique Caribe17 Apr 2010 8:47 p.m. PST

So, are the Martian figures available by themselves yet?

Or still just as part of the whole game set?

Dan
