Dances With Words Fezian23 Jul 2009 7:55 p.m. PST

I got my "Martians" game by Twilight Creations and inside was a bag of 100 really cool 'puke-green' gnarley-looking Martians in 3 different poses, (I gotta try drybrushing some!)…along with some players/victims, bullet and life-cards and action cards for Martians and players and terrain? tiles!

I can't wait to try 'modifying' some of the action cards/terrain tiles (like roads, buildings)…to EXPAND it, (if they don't add one themselves!!! 8-) and maybe…we can hope for 'glo in the dark ZOMBIE MARTIANS' by the bag for GENCON or TENTACLEMASS???

Then we can have Hot Zombie Babes being chased by Mutant Zombie Glo in Dark Martians riding Zombie german shepards…(since they don't have zombie cows….yet?!)

Looked thru the rules and all the game pieces and for just under $30 USD USD…I'm really THRILLED! (I hope they release the 'bags o Martians' seperately, too…!) because of the compact size of the game, but with all the versatility to 'mix and match' I'm sure, with their other zombie games!

The box art itself is just 'retro cool' too!!

I'm hopeing to 'play' it this weekend with a friend or two…and see what STRANGENESS/new scenarios/mods…we can come up with!

I'd heard it was available (in limited quantities) at ORIGINS…(don't know about Historicon)…but I had pre-ordered mine thru local comic shop!

Anyway…it was 'worth waiting for!!!!

Thanks TC 'crew'…

Slishfully,
Sgt DWW-bartentacle on duty

Excellent. My wait is finally over:

Note: There's lots of places that list them for less . . .

DETAIL
I wish they had applied a wash to the figures shown on their website:

I think (and DWW may enlighten us here) there's more detail there than what I can see in the photos.

POSES
One more point . . . how difficult would it be to "permanently" bend the figures a bit, in order to have more poses than just the three in the set?

Is it just a matter of heating the figures in hot water, as I've heard suggested for other plastic miniatures?

If they are soft plastic then heating in hot water or by using a hot arie dryer should do the trick. They stick them in the freezer for a few seconds to hardern them back up.

I picked it up yesterday, and am most pleased with my new Martian horde.

Dunno about reposing, though -- two of the three figures are holding their arms and weapons pretty close, and the third only has one arm free of the body. Seems like you'd want to start cutting if you were really serious about reposing.

And yes, the figs are more detailed and better looking, IMHO, than the pictures on the web site.

I have had a six-inch wide flying saucer sitting around for years now. It will be nice to be able to use it to ferry my Martian hordes. If TC releases a "bag o martians," our options will be that much wider…

So who's got new variant rules for using ZOMBIES!!! tiles and cards for MARTIANS!!! scenarios?

Only a matter of time.

What scale are these LGM's anyway? Thinking about sending my Deadlands posse to Mars and an trying to put together a small horde of cheap aliens. Where would they come to on one of the larger 'heroic scale" 28-32mm minis?

From what others say here, it looks like they are 22-23mm tall:
