I know they are both sold as 15mm . . . But are the two sets of figures really compatible in size?

This might be a premature question, but I figured some of you may have gotten a hold of both sets already and had a chance to compare.

GZG's "Free Trader Crew" – already placed an order for them

Splintered Light's "Spacer Crew" – seriously considering getting them too

I haven't bought from Splintered Light yet, so was curious if there was a significant size difference between the two manufacturers.

Thanks.

Since the GZG crew just came out and the Splintered Light is not out yet, I think this is going to be hard to determine until the minis are available for comparison. Splintered Light tend to be a little skinnier that GZG if I were to look at the fantasy humans, but we have seen nothing in regards to SciFi since they are new. We could quess, but you are likely better off waiting until someone can place them side by side.

Just my opinion,

Jeff

I look forward to the answer myself. Maybe I need to buy a set of each and find out for myself though…

Splintered Light, when is your set going to be released?

Thanks guys.

I thought this question might be a bit too early for most. However, if someone got both sets at Salute or elsewhere, their input will be fantastic.

These will be released in two sets of 6 so I had to add another three figures. The sculpting should be done by the end of the week. The mold making and casting depends on the mold maker's schedule, but hopefully all should be ready to sell around the end of April.

Is Splintered Light jumping into sci-fi as well, or is this a one-shot offering?

I'm not a Firefly guy, so they're not really my thing but look nice.

You are making me a very, very happy man!

I think if you're into 15mm, you'd best get BOTH 'series' of 'crews'…I know I'd like to, but then again I've got a papercraft version that would work GREAT with 15mm figs and the GZG spacers etc for 'suited' and 'purple-bellys'…

By the way, I also got the 'Map of the 'VERSE'…and it is FRICKIN AWESOME! soooooo much info for the game on the two sides and 214 planets and moons to 'play with'…SLISH!

'we're all just folk now….SHINY!'

Slishfully,

Which map of the verse are you referring to, DWW?

Either way, both ship crews are going to visit this little ol' town here:

Cacique Caribe, I like the bugs on the town link. Can you tell me if they are in production? If so, where and how much? :)

Cacique Caribe13 Apr 2009 2:38 p.m. PST

Thanks. I sculpted those in the last few days. I've kept my sculpting to a minimum while I get physical therapy for my carpal tunnel problem.

I have someone that is interested in them and it will be up to him to announce if/when they actually go into production.

Fingers crossed.

It's a great time to like 15mm SF figures . . . isn't it?

Hi Rod,

Are you still on track? How soon before I can order those two sets of 6?

Thanks.

Update:

I've just been told that they are definitely still in the queue. Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll have access to them.

I guess the answer is, perfectly.

Something for your 15mm space travelers to deal with on their ship, perhaps?

So . . . for those of you who have already bought the Splintered Light and the GZG sets . . .

Do you guys have any plans for making/buying buildings and other scenery for them?
