Guys,
I really like the GW Cadian Infantry for Sci Fi ground troops. Just high tech looking enough, versatile and inexpensive. However, I absolutely HATE their headgear. I see that Pig Iron sells packs of their heads separately. Would the Pig Iron heads work on Cadian bodies?

Nick,

Did Simon finally decide on a release date of the separate head sprues?

CC,
They are listed at Thewarstore.com, so I assume they are actually available. The sets have 20 heads for I think $6.99.
I really need to know if they will fit on the GW Cadian bodies.

Fantastic!

Then yes. You will need to add a bit of Greenstuff to the necks to fit into the socket though. Easy to do.

CC,
Actually, after finding Rattlehead Games and seeing their prices on Pig Iron, I just went and ordered the actual PI figures. They really have just the look I want.

While I have not done this exact swap, instead of green stuff for a fit I have used a hole punch to punch out thin plastic and used that to get heads to sit high enough to fit – just an idea.

PJ,

I hadn't thought of that! How does it look afterwards? Any photos? Are the edges of the "thin plastic" punch-outs smooth enough or did you have to sand it a bit.

I will have to buy some of the PI heads at some point.

PJ Parent27 Aug 2007 10:51 a.m. PST

I'll get some pics up asap (I'm slow but bear with me….). The figures used are the warzone cheap plastic set. I wanted to turn the head a little so for it to look better I had to lift it past the shoulder pad – I'll be able to show pics with and without so you can see it. (Since I have to finish the squad I can do some in progress shots.)

Now, hold your breath till I post where the pictures are….

Thanks, PJ

I use a leather punch to punch out disks from a credit card. In some cases it has extended a little farther than I might like, but most are right on. The way the figures are it hides the disk – they have ruffled cloth on their necks. My horrible painting style also helps hide the disk.

PJ Parent30 Aug 2007 10:16 a.m. PST

I should point out that none of those figures are finished.

PJ Parent30 Aug 2007 6:02 p.m. PST

Oh, to answer the question – no sanding involved.
