Painting up some Cadians for use as a militia on a mostly-terraformed Mars. Only prob is, those boys don't have any masks and the atmosphere is still mightily thin :-) So, how do the various heads from PI compare in size? Will they work? Thanks! |

I am curious to know the answer to this question, too. |

Thanks for the link, Cacique Caribe. There doesn't seem to be any pics in that thread, though
So, anyone else? Surely someone has done this 'conversion' by now. |

There's a link in the thread that gives you quite a few pictures. I don't know if they are exactly what you want since I know little about Cadians and nothing bout the Pig Iron figures. |

Look into finding some Imperial Regulars or Ducal Militia plastics on ebay or at Prince August. They shouldn't cost too much these days. All the heads have gas masks and you get to choose from WWI style British helmets or WWII German coal shuttle style helmets. You have to use a bit of green stuff to fill in the neck are as the heads aren't curved on the bottom. Here is a link to the Prince August site so you can see what they look like - link |

The London War Room has in their VSF range, troops with separate heads. I got the sailors, with separate heads with plain sailor heads, and with goggles. I think the British infantry have separate heads with gas masks, but I could be wrong. In any event, it would do no harm to contact them to see if they will sell separate head sprues. |

My camera sucks, but I actually have 2 squads of Cadians with PI head, the Kolony gasmask heads and the more high tech rebreather type. I found they fit pretty well, a little filler might be called for, I didn't use any, but more hard core modelers might want to. |

I managed to get a couple decent pics actually, although they came out really shiny
picture picture Also, keep in mind that my paint jobs are not meant to be viewed up close like that :-P |

Thanks CC! I also have some of the heads with gasmasks but no helmets, thinking of putting them on Catachan plastics to use as post apoc gangers or in 40k as conscripts. |

Thanks, elijahdprophet. That helped. |

Forge World sells Cadian heads with respirators – I found them, to be frank, a bit small for the rest of the figure |

Thanks CC! This one looks very much like my friend's conversion. It uses Kolony Militia heads on IG: picture @Frederick
I like the respirator heads too. I'm a sucker for just about any "full sci-fi helmet/headgear". |

My son decided he wanted to build an Imperial Guard force, but wanted them to look different, and we decided to go with Cadians with Kolony Militia heads. They look great and are proportional. |
