Little by little, they are finally getting done . . .

As soon as I get home, I'll try to take better photos. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Oh, and the oval one is not a hut. It is supposed to be a food cache (as in permafrost fridge).

CC

the Gorb28 Jul 2007 8:56 a.m. PST

They look pretty good. Scale?

Regards, the Gorb

Cacique Caribe28 Jul 2007 9:02 a.m. PST

Oh, sorry. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm making them for my 28-30mm Cavemen/women; my Sapiens (Copplestone) and my Neanderthals (Reaper, Pulp, Jeff Valent).

Lowtardog28 Jul 2007 9:32 a.m. PST

Excellent stuff Dan, exactly as I pictured them when chatting on the Yahoo group :0)

Black Cavalier28 Jul 2007 9:50 a.m. PST

Brilliant. I've been keeping an eye out for the old Celtos Gael longhouses on ebay, but doing something like this would be great too.

Great job, CC, excellent detailing.

elijahdprophet28 Jul 2007 10:17 a.m. PST

Those look really nice CC.

I was in petsmart the other day and saw this and though of you, it is a crab/reptile house for a terrarium.

picture

Super lightweight and about $3 USD

elijahdprophet28 Jul 2007 10:18 a.m. PST

Thought, that should be. Also the key fob is not meant as advertisement, but to show scale.

Dr Mathias Fezian28 Jul 2007 10:23 a.m. PST

Looking good!

Cacique Caribe28 Jul 2007 1:16 p.m. PST

More added.

Sorry, that's a hotel pillowcase they are sitting on.

likeadodo28 Jul 2007 2:58 p.m. PST

They look absolutely great! Any plans on going commercial with them?
They look like an old picture I have of a Gravettian (advanced paaleolithic) settlement in Moravia. In that recontruction ther are two rectangular and one conical hut
(the conical hut looks like an irregular teepee). All with hides and mammoth tusks like yours.

I am most impressed.

Cheers
Eric

Steve Hazuka28 Jul 2007 7:07 p.m. PST

CC, I'm with Eric on this. Those are BEGGING to be commerically produced! I'd love to add those to my shopping list for my primitives project in the fall!

Black Cavalier29 Jul 2007 5:53 a.m. PST

What did you make the tusks out of?

Alxbates29 Jul 2007 6:04 a.m. PST

Yeah, CC, those really need to be released commercially.

mattblackgod29 Jul 2007 6:10 a.m. PST

Wow – they are great CC! Great work – as the others have mentioned – any plans to release them commercially?

MONGREL129 Jul 2007 6:41 a.m. PST

Very nice work Dan, you should have them resin cast and get them out on the market asap!

Cacique Caribe29 Jul 2007 9:32 a.m. PST

Tusks are also epoxy putty, just a different type.

As for resin casting them. I'm currently giving it a lot of thought.

CC

Broadsword29 Jul 2007 9:58 a.m. PST

Those look great!

Mysterioso29 Jul 2007 10:10 a.m. PST

Those are brilliant! They look very much like a dsiplay that was at American Museum of Natural History (which depicted a HSS site in Ukraine (IIRC). I can only say what others have: you should either produce these or someone should cast your stuff.

Cacique Caribe29 Jul 2007 12:56 p.m. PST

Thanks!!!

By the way, these are some of the sites I have used as reference for this batch:

I've been saving those, and many others, to our Cave Wars Yahoo Group's links:

Damn, these are cool! Excellent work.

Tanuki30 Jul 2007 3:29 p.m. PST

Daniel, these are fantastic! I'll agree with the others – you need to find a resin caster and produce these commercially, they really are that good.

Cheers,

Derek

Bravo Six30 Jul 2007 7:45 p.m. PST

Give it lots and lots and lots and LOTS of thought, okay Dan!!??

-B6

Cacique Caribe31 Jul 2007 2:06 a.m. PST

Don't worry. It looks like they will be produced.

Fingers crossed.

CC

Bravo Six31 Jul 2007 12:21 p.m. PST

Awesome. Keep us posted!!

-B6

Cacique Caribe31 Jul 2007 1:27 p.m. PST

Well, it so happens that tomorrow they are traveling to an undisclosed location for production. :)

You will definitely be hearing from the new owner, here on TMP, Cave Wars, etc., announcing their development and release. Soon, I hope.

CC

Detailed Casting Products31 Jul 2007 3:33 p.m. PST

Very nicely done, CC. Congrats!

Cacique Caribe02 Aug 2007 9:10 a.m. PST

They are off to their new owner.

In the next few months, I hope, you'll hear an official announcement of where they may be purchased/ordered.

In the meantime, I'm going to start on that mammoth bone hut I've been meaning to make for a long time.

CC

Mysterioso02 Aug 2007 11:22 a.m. PST

CC:

That is great news! Please keep us paleofreaks updated on when they'll come out.

Now hopefully someone will pick up and produce your "really big, angry earthworm".

Mysterioso

Cacique Caribe02 Aug 2007 11:26 a.m. PST

As for the tents, I am told that he will be making an announcement and promo on Cave Wars, so look for it in the coming months.

CC

Cacique Caribe02 Aug 2007 11:35 a.m. PST

Hey, you are not the only one anxious for them to get made.

My table is at home, ready to welcome those tents when they get made:

Very, very nice indeed. All you need how are a couple of great white hunters in a cooking pot, and the village is ready to go!

Norscaman07 Oct 2008 7:44 p.m. PST

Just incredible! You are quite the sculptor CC!

Alxbates08 Oct 2008 10:27 p.m. PST
