This is my very first attempt at sculpting and painting a prehistoric hut for my (as yet) unpainted cavemen.

If interested, check out my figure and terrain photo album:

Have you thought about caves? I would have thought that/they would have been more prevalent and possibly easier for you to make. The only reason I mention this is that I watched Neanderthal on the History channel the other night and they stated that archeological evidence shows that Neanderthal caves were most definately taken over and used by Humans!

Thanks. That is definitely on my list. I already have all the materials and hope to start one something this week.

Nice work.

Do I have to join the group to see the hut photo?

Cacique Caribe15 Mar 2006 12:44 p.m. PST

It is the only place I can show for now. However, if you so choose, I can email you the photos. Just let me know where. Thanks.

VERY nice. It should work well for orcs too.

Thats ok, CC, I was just checking. I understand the posting thing for those of us without free web hosts, or our own servers. I use geocities, but it is kinda clunky.

Caves would have been more desirable real estate, but it's very reasonable to believe that those who couldn't find uninhabited caves (or those which could be made so) would build their own shelter.

I would imagine that those in the open tundra or steppes would have to look for alternative shelters.

This gives me the option of depicting a traveling group that moves and sets up shop in a valley, while being observed by another group from the comfort of a cave.

Here is a photo of my attempt to make a prehistoric hut out of Sculpey:

I guess it could also be used for barbarians of other genres.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

How about just using Photobucket?

Cacique Caribe04 Feb 2007 1:41 p.m. PST

I'll make the next ones with Green Stuff over an armature.

AAAhh I was hoping with a new post in this topic, there would be visible pictures up. Please post pics! (ones that work; use photobucket for an easy way to be sure.) I've been wondering for so long what this hut of yours looks like.

Cacique Caribe04 Feb 2007 11:08 p.m. PST

Alrightey then . . .

More huts on the way. That first one was just a test of skills and materials . . .

Now, I'm going to try other types, and using Greenstuff instead of Sculpey:
