I have a few favorite images from past searches, but these are some nice ones I've discovered recently: picture link These would actually make excellent miniatures, if anyone is willing to try (hint, hint). QUESTION: Do you have any favorite links to well-drawn concept art of Chupacabras? CC PS. Who knows. After my past failed attempts, I may get inspired to try sculpting one again. |

I'm basically looking for nice, inspirational sketches. Thanks. CC |

You could check coasttocoastam.com and do a search on there. I used to listen to updates on the chupa back in 91-2. |

If anything it should have names of people "hunting" it and they may have good stuff. |

CC, pardon me for stating the 'obvious'
but wouldn't some 'reworking' of a KROOT HOUND/with kroot-head
and some nid 'spine bits'
allow you to make something DARN close to that??? I mean
that's what came to my mind when I saw the image and I was already sorting thru my bits box
(in my head) for the appropriate parts!!!! It shouldn't be that hard to 'mock up' one that you could clone parts off of for making more than one
(like I do with my 'martians' and cthullionians/jovian bug men???? Just a 'thought'

I guess I'm going after a really alien look for it, and not one based on the bad sketches from eye-witness accounts. Alien look and some professionalism in the sketch, I guess. CC PS. Yikes! That one is scary indeed, MrWigglesworth, though it would not make a very impressive gaming figure, I think. |

My favorite chupacabra image is the one hanging in our bedroom. It's called "Boy Petting Chupacabra". Won't do for you, I'm afraid, as I believe the original was scratchboard. But the chupacabra is charming

Personally, I'm rather fond of Ursula Vernon's Chupacabra-self.. Basically was part of a series of little comics, dealing with various Irrational Fears. link But then she can make anything look cute. Even maggots. picture Frankly, I want a mini of this guy: link She's one of my favorite artists, hands-down. |

I love it! Actually looks like Smeagol, but with some reptilian features . . . hmmm, there's an idea! CC |
Smokey Roan | 20 Jul 2007 6:40 p.m. PST |
Cacique, any time I see "Chupacabres" in a thread title, I know who is behind it. LOL. You like the idea of the Chupacabre, eh? :) And I know you know that I know that you secretly hope their for real :) :) :) |
Cacique Caribe | 20 Jul 2007 7:16 p.m. PST |
I do hope. I want to believe!!! Oh, well . . . to much science in my head to believe in such things. He, he, he. I think it would be cool to spray paint a bunch of baboons with glow-in-the-dark paint and set them loose in Canovanas, PR., just to freak out the Mayor there a bit more. :) CC |
Smokey Roan | 20 Jul 2007 7:40 p.m. PST |
LOL, just go ahead and do it! make sure you take pics! I don't know where you live, but DO NOT ever dress up like a chupacabre and start running around any cattle if its in the Southern part of the US! That would end badly! :) |
Smokey Roan | 20 Jul 2007 7:41 p.m. PST |
Wait, you are in PR, forgot. Would it be prudent to run around ina "Chupa" costume their? |
Cacique Caribe | 20 Jul 2007 7:44 p.m. PST |
Born in PR, but live in Houston (Katy) Texas. Currently, residing in a hotel room in Waco TX. I was in PR May 30 to June 13 and that idea DID cross my mind. :) CC |

LOL ! Watch out for them Texas Longhorn fans!!! If they get on your nerves, mention the '91 Cotton Bowl, works for me. :) :) :) |

So, most common themes: Spiny back. Long fangs. 'Grey' head or hyena-like head. Baboon-like or hyena-like head. Long tail optional. Some modifications to a Gollum figure or adding spines to a hyena would work. |
