I was watching a Discovery Channl show on chimps the other day. They're vicious little bastards.

The Ape takeover has begun!!!

As Hudson said:

"What do you mean 'THEY cut the power'? How could they cut the power, man? They're animals!"

"That's it man, game over man, game over! What the @%$& are we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?"

"Oh dear Lord Jesus, this ain't happening, man… This can't be happening, man! This isn't happening!"

I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

I remember reading an article shotly after the original Planet of the Apes came out, must have been around 1970 or 1971, expressing amusement that the Gorillas were depicted as warlike and the Chimps as pacifists, when in nature the Gorillas are much more laid-back.

I've also read many articles stating that animal wranglers in Hollywood won't work with Chimps past age 6 or 7, because they get too strong, recalcitrant, mean, and unpredictable (probably understandable, considering what they have to go through to be "trained"). Here's an article that touches on Chimps and Hollywood: link

One of the top ten reasons why I love TMP… New words for my vocabulary. Honestly now, did recalcitrant just come to you or did you take a peek in a thesaurus?

Yes. That Jpattern is simply incorrigible!

Heh! I've been described as recalcitrant, too.

Chimps turn into OFMs.
Predictable, really, once you think about it.

Hmm . . . OFM, a.k.a. "Chim-chim"?

You were very naughty in your youth then.

I guess that "2001: A Space Odyssey" was prophetic then.

If I recall correctly, I think that those "Chimps" were shown around what looked like caves:
