That's a rather personal question… 8)=

Actually it just sounds like bragging to me.

So anyway, my wife says, "Could you prop that door open while we bring in the groceries, and I look around and ----

It's in my kitchen, draped in yellow plastic bags from Stop 'N' Shop.

Chuckaroobob22 Feb 2007 12:48 p.m. PST

It's gotta be a real pain to get that thing through Customs.

Killer Chimps, huh? I knew they'd bash smaller animals into trees etc, but spearing is news.

Rattrap122 Feb 2007 12:51 p.m. PST

That's the third time this week Pete! We're either going to tie it around your neck or put one of those remote beepers on it so you can just dial it up.

Sheesh!

Do what Ric Flair does, whenever he loses his monolith.
Put on your satin rhinestone bathrobe, and parade around the ring. When "Also Spach Zarathrustra" starts to play, shout "Whooooo!", and there it is.

Um, there was an issue with the design specifications. The Chinese manufacturer went and did it in metric so yours came out 11.25mm x 1.25mm x 5mm.

We have these 6mm scale apes we can place around it to look bigger…

There are indeed different traits in various Chimp groups, even though they share the same basic genes. This is what some have called "cultural differences".

However, I never even dreamed that they would develop spears!!!

PS. I guess that the ape revolution has already begun!

I have heard of them using sticks to get termites for a long time. Is it that much of a leap to use a stick to get a bushbaby out of a tree?

Cacique Caribe22 Feb 2007 2:21 p.m. PST

See! Now they are hunting babies!!! :)

Streitax22 Feb 2007 2:35 p.m. PST

Actually, there have been cases of chimps taking babies from villages. Thought to be induced by decreasing habitat, but one small mammal pretty much looks like another.

wingnut22 Feb 2007 2:36 p.m. PST

Get those monkeys a typewriter! Soon they will be writing Shakespeare.

Give them another 4 million years and they'll have WMDs. We can't afford to wait 'til that happens.

Cacique Caribe22 Feb 2007 3:12 p.m. PST

Not if they (accidentally or intentionally) detonate ours first!

Actually, the monolith is in my kitchen.

Seriously.

:-P

When we got our new fridge, it was enormous rectangular and and glossy black and somehow … ominous. I got it home and installed it (i.e. put the doors back on), plugged it in, then opened it up and peered inside. The only person who got it when I said "Oh my god … it's full of stars." was my buddy Steve, who's easily as geeky as me, and whose truck we'd used to tote it home.

If you meet a chimp calling himself the Lawgiver learn to eat fruit and keep your mouth shut!

captain arjun Fezian23 Feb 2007 6:53 a.m. PST

We need to exterminate all chimpanzees while we still have the edge, or it will be the Planet of the Apes all over again…

Cacique Caribe23 Feb 2007 10:32 a.m. PST

Well, it all goes along with this . . .

Pruetz is going to give a lecture on her findings at Iowa State University March 7. I live 2 miles from the university! I can't wait.

Now if we could just get more anthropologists and less politicians here in Iowa.
