I'm not worried yet CC. Anyone can shoot a handgun. It's the long range chimp snipers I'm concerned about. |

Interesting that the article mentions that these chimps are under unusual environmental pressures
forced to hunt for meat because there is less of the 'normal' chimp food (fruits and nuts). |

I don't know, Venusboys3. I have read so much about Chimps that hunt other primates even when there is plenty to eat, as in the interior of the least populated jungle areas. If we share some of the same DNA, we must surely have some things in common (however unpleasant they may be to the current PC culture). CC |

I'm sure I've seen Colobus Monkeys in Belfast Zoo arranging little lines of nuts against other little groups of berries, moving them with the aid of a marked stick and rolling little scraped bones or cubiod stones to resolve combats. Then they punch fugh out of one another with their little fists. |

Hi Pop science in the BBC
Chimps modifying sticks to poke things has been documented for centuries. Well known behaviour. The reporter misunderstood. This is a series of reports that they are specifically targeting other monkeys. These reports in the past were not addressed during the period when the "noble nature" cabal was dominent. Rocky

What? Chimpanzees are brutal murderers of other primates!?! Alert PETA! They must protest! Don't these chimps know that primates are supposed to be vegan!!! :-P On the other hand, if Charlton Heston comes recruiting, I'll sign up. We'd better nip this one in the bud before the apes start getting ideas
