Full screen page (no tool bar), claiming to be from the Met police, saying we've been pirating/downloading illegal porn (kids/animals), or have allowed someone to do it without our knowledge. Pic of a actor dressed as copper top right. We can get control of computer back if we pay £100.00 GBP fine, or else they will take us to court for £'000 and prison.

Obviously not real (legal language used, plus the Met Police not known for letting kiddy fiddlers off with slap on wrist)

Any idea how to get rid of it – only on one profile at the monment- ran a scan, and nothing showed.

Try using malware bytes and scan the system in safe mode.

If it is a Windows 7 machine also try restore. That will roll back all the installs to the system to the date you choose.

My brother in law had a similar issue. Roll back to a good system restore point.

I hate that 'ransom-ware' crud.
Hackers still suck.
