They look great, but I'm very anxious to see the ECW infantry!

The ECW infantry have been out for months!

My mistake. I thought the new line was going to have mixed headgear, so everyone doesn't look like they're wearing uniforms.

Maybe I just imagined that.

The musketeers have Monteros, hats, helmets, and Monmouth caps. These can be mixed easily, but you need to buy the individual packs. Particularly in the smaller scales, I think it is unrealistic to expect multiple headwear to be included in a single code.

No. There is nothing to stop one from casting them that way. A mixed "A and a "B" strip would suffice. It would also save the trouble of having twice as many SKU's as necessary. Why would anyone ever want ALL the musketeers in one unit in morions? That's completely unrealistic.

If I have to chop up a bunch of strips to gain any semblance of irregularity, I might as well just go with 10mm.

You'd be amazed at how many people DO want to have uniform headgear and how many requests I have had over the years to produce uniform codes.

Remember that these codes cover the TYW as well as the ECW and helmets were issued on a uniform basis, as were Monmouths and Monteros, so a single code works well for that.

As I have found out over the years, you simply cannot please everyone no matter how hard you try and I've (nearly) given up on trying to educate wargamers that their wee men should be wearing caps, not hats…

at least there is a solution.

since wargaming is a mix of history, nostalgia, and paid daydreaming, i can only imagine how hard it is to balance requests and profits for manufacturers.

most gaming is a compromise on so many levels, and each scale certainly has its own issues.

It's 6mm, who can even see what they have on their heads? ;)

Thanks Per, these new sculpts are an absolute joy to paint, even for an idiot like me!

Dave Crowell12 Jan 2018 2:26 p.m. PST

Very nice figures. I was kidding about seeing the hats on 6mm, I have been known to paint eyes, faces, all sorts of details on the little chaps. Baccus sculpts are superb.

Even in jest you have no idea how tired I am of reading those words! :)
