Actually I'd use the Alternate Universe version of the VF crew and paint them as Klingons. You could even just use the normal crew miniatures with slight modifications for a sash or goatee.

Someone mentioned the First Corps Away Team…anyone know if they still make them? And if so are they compatible with the First Corps Colonial Marines?

Now mind you: yes they look cartoonish, so they won't replace important (and miniatured) characters, but if the characters in question are suppose to be:
a) in a "cast of thousands"/"background characters" (or)
b) "Ensign Jimmys"/"Red Shirts"
well then…:)
