I have been looking and cannot find any photos or sketches of what those Martian "sand ships" looked like . . .

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Modernize them a bit, using something like this:

Or make your own:

Jabba's sail barge is better than that!

Just put sails on these Dark Eldar "skiffs":

If interested in a few comparison photos of the Star Wars skiff against a 28mm EM-4 trooper . . .

Though that Dark Eldar "Raider" does look more alien to me:

Maybe I'll use the Star Wars skiff as the human counterpart.

are these still available anywhere – or are they from the older range of figures?

Alien,

I think those are much bigger than the "Nikto Desert Skiff" I got.

For comparison purposes, that Tatooine skiff in your picture is shown here compared to what I assume is a kid's hand:

I want the action figures one even more now – cheers CC :-)

If you want some interesting looking "sand ships", look at the ones featured in Black Horse comic's old series "Race of Scorpions". In the first issue there are several designs…cargo ships, skiffs, and pirates.

Here are plans to make a GW40K DE raider out of balsa and plasticard. I made mine out of heavy cardstock. Add some sales and skis, instant sand ship.

CC, I have this movie on DVD. Let me know if you need better images of the Martian sandships and I will take some larger screencaps for you.

I may try converting this Star Wars Nikto Skiff into a Sand Ship of sorts for my Greys:

I am glad to see that someone else also saw the conversion potential of that skiff:

And, if anyone is looking for a canal boat of sorts . . .
