link A few months ago, I ordered the following packs: 1 x PI.1 Heavy Infantry Command Squad (4 plus a robot) 3 x PI.2 Infantry Squad + Assault Weapon (5 figures each) 1 x PI.4 Missile Teams Moving and Firing (4 figures each) 1 x PI.5 Heavy Laser Teams Moving and Firing 4 figures each) I like the figures very much, and was a little dissappointed when I noticed that SOME of them had very disproportionate legs. I hope they resolve this in the other new packs and any re-releases of the packs I have already seen. I know they have just come up with a "PI.7 Heavy Infantry Casualties" pack, but I think I have a solution that will provide me ready-made casualties (and I think you can guess it already): use the ones with "funny legs" as casualties (basically as if blown to bits). PI.1 – all 5 figures look fine PI.2 – 2 of the 5 will have to be casualties (6 from the 3 packs I have) PI.4 – 1 of the 4 will be a casualty PI.5 – 1 of the 4 will be a casualty That gives me a total of 8 ready-made casualties! The rest (20 usable figures from the packs I obtained) looked magnificent, so I definitely wanted to put them to use. Has anyone else with these packs done this already? CC |

wait- pleae explain- were they poorly cast or poorly sculpted. And if poorly cast did you ask them about it? My rule of thumb is that in something like this one should contact the company about a problem before posting. (Besides, if they ignore you or say rude things it makes your post much cooler!) |

"I like the figures very much, and was a little dissappointed when I noticed that SOME of them had very disproportionate legs" P.I. Troops come from a heavy grav world. They are very heavy and strong but move slower on their short legs. |

I am certainly not the first one who has voiced that the legs on SOME were poorly sculpted! I will honestly admit that. However, once again I am defending the outstanding quality of the MAJORITY of the Pig Iron figures. At the same time, I am proposing a viable use for those that may not look quite right (again, a very small number). In good conscience I cannot consider the few questionable sculpts as sufficient reason to write off the rest of their fantastic models. Instead, I think they might actually be put to good use. I was, after all, considering getting a "casualty" pack at some point in the future. This just seems to kill two birds with one stone. CC PS. I even went so far as to email them to make them aware of this situation. |

Thankfully, not every manufacturer has to turn out Perry-quality sculpts, especially if there is some character and creativity in there. |

there has been gripes about the length of the legs for quite some time now. 30% of the total figs having the problem is an issue that should really be fixed. |

I have seen some of the Pig Iron troops and was very impressed by the style and the level of detail
then I noticed the legs. Some of the minis had stumpy legs with a long torso, which looked terrible. Pig Iron must be aware that people have noticed the leg problem because I have seen dozens of forum posts mentioning it (also people saying that they have contacted Pig Iron to point it out). I wouldn't buy any because of the legs problem and the fact that I would feel compelled to spend far too much time correcting the fault with wire and putty. It is a real shame that the sculptor doesn't own an anatomy book because if he (or she) did then he (or she) would immediately see how odd the legs look and would hopefully correct it
and I would buy the minis by the bucket load (excellent enemies for my Hasslefree Grymn). |

I am 5 ft 11 inches standing, but with the torso of a 6ft 5 inches man on a very short pair of legs. Looks I will have to get some of these pig iron troops to represent myself on the battlefield LOL! SW |

You know, I looked at the "tumpy legs and long torso" and just attributed it to their spacesuits being roomy in the running region. Suits are actually very thick and consist of a lot of layers. You'd probably want them reasonably baggy if you're going to fight in them

Hi there everyone. Thanks for all the leg comments. I agree that some of the models have slightly stumpy legs but considering that these were the first miniatures I have ever sculpted I think they are ok for a first attempt. I am now sculpting some more infantry that will take the existing styling and expand it into figures that have some extra leg protection. Careful attention is being paid to the legs to make them more in proportion. I am planning to do them with separate torsos and heads for extra poseability and also make them compatible with a new range of rebels so that gamers can mix them and create quite uniformed or irregular looking forces without them being a complete ball-ache to assemble I am glad that people generally like the way things are going and hope they will continue to support us over the coming months. Cheers Si |

Si, When are you going to get a proper online order thing set up, with a basket and paypal etc. Do that and you will get plenty of my money, I am always put off by the email order thingy. Love the minis (even the stumpies LOL) but hate email orders. Cheers SW |

As a first attempt at minis, they are excellent (I love the style, like I said) and if the whole leg thing gets sorted out, I will buy them to fight my Hasslefree Grymn. As an aside, the new Warbots are brilliant. We NEED more of them :). Multi part minis is a great idea because then people who winge about the legs (like myself) will have less of an excuse not to buy them because it would be easy to sort the legs out. |

SI, Once you come up with proper legs on the sculpts, are you planning on redoing your existing packs? CC |

Yep, a big pack of new troopers with improved proportions. I still say the old ones were very stylish and attractive, i9n spite of the small proportion issue. Just made 'em look like the pants were baggy IMO. |

It really takes a brave man to accept his mistakes, well done Si. By the way, the new ones are a definite improvement. |
