30 of those will be expensive
|
Chupacabras | 23 Feb 2006 4:15 a.m. PST |
Thanks, but that still comes to over $120 USD for 30 ghouls. |
Cacique Caribe | 23 Feb 2006 4:22 a.m. PST |
Sorry. These are pricey too: link CC |
KatieL | 23 Feb 2006 4:34 a.m. PST |
Kallistra do zombies which could pass for the GW ghouls — 6 quid for 8 variants. BTD do ghoul warriors for just over a quid each. |
Area23 | 23 Feb 2006 4:43 a.m. PST |
BTD do old GW style ghouls. RaFm does Lovecraft style ghouls, with hooves! I never found the ghouls as I evision them. so I converted my own. Foundry Pictish fanatics with GW ungor head without the horns: link Thats still a pricey option if you need 30. Alternatively you could use GW's plastic mordor orcs too. At least the bare heads. |

You could try the old celtos range, they do flesh eaters which make the best ghouls I have seen. Brigade games do them now, I think price wise they are not to bad. |
Cacique Caribe | 23 Feb 2006 6:08 a.m. PST |
Steve, Are these the ones? link CC |
Steve O | 23 Feb 2006 6:52 a.m. PST |
indeed they are zombies, flesh eaters and skeletons Another Steve @ brigade models |

I like the WestWind ones, the scarecrows with bags over their heads, because they remind me of the band Ghoul. creepsylvania.com |

You could try RAFM miniatures they had some ghouls in the Call of Cthulhu line, probably cheaper. |

although i'm not a big fan of the line, Black Tree Design is rather economic: link ghouls somewhere down on the page. |

Black Tree Design zombies and ghouls army pack contains 15 undead for online price of 14,99 pound. Good deal but not worlds best mini's |

Very Ghoulish
(Call of Cthulhu Ghasts about $3.50/ea.) link You might mix these with others for the emaciated, must-eat-brains look. |

Interesting. The heads on those RAFM Ghasts remind me a lot of these fellas: link link CC |

Rackham ones are horrible models, not because of their detail or whatever, but because of the stick thin ankles. I guarantee they won't survive very long if don't handle them with the greatest of care. The best thing about them, if their ankles snap, there isn't enough lead in them to be drilled out for a pin to go in. |
Henrix | 04 Jun 2006 8:44 a.m. PST |
I haven't had any problems with my Rackham ghouls, except that I snapped the legs of one of them when i removed the bleeping slot. Had no problems pinning them back on , though. |

I'd just take an existing figure I hated and whack him up a bit with a chisel or awl,a dn then some white glue with fine sand (puss, etc). A good paint job later you've recycled old unwanted figures and fielded a whole new undead army
|
Cacique Caribe | 26 Mar 2007 10:54 a.m. PST |
Gabriel, Not a bad idea! That's one way of getting some use out of them. CC |
religon | 28 Mar 2007 9:25 a.m. PST |
I really like some old 25mm Ral Partha diminuative ghouls (likely OOP) I painted a few weeks ago. Small, squat with a human forearm in one hand. I had little hope for the figure and was just painting it to bulk up an undead horde, but the results were a surprise. |

I saw these guys in person at Cold Wars. I got to say they were very nice. Actually almost all the figures coming from Crocodile games are exceptional. Some of the newer models are just plan amazing as far as crisp clean casts with great detail. |

Just saw one of the newer Heroscape expansion packs of 6 "Zombies" for $10 USD retail painted plastic. Easy with rather nice poses and a mix of bone club weapons. link |

D&D Plastics- Thru Herotown or some other secondary dealer. I think that they are wights(?). They cost me a couple of bucks for a DOZEN. |
religon | 01 Apr 2007 7:55 p.m. PST |
Two of the common (cheap) D&D plastics that look good
Ghast (49/72)
purple with bone club. Nice lurching pose. Terror Wight (41/60)
hunchbacked with long clawed hands. Gangly, but nasty looking. The actual Ghoul (63/80)
Harbinger set I think..that I have has no character. Greenish-grey with idiotic posture. The Harbinger Zombie is also pretty good, but not worth the collectible upcharge of this collectible set. |
