Which group do you like the most?

CC

Patules18 Jan 2006 1:49 a.m. PST

None, nothing. I hate all of it.

malamute18 Jan 2006 1:49 a.m. PST

The Vampires.Who could not like Kate Beckinsale in skin tight leather!

Midway Monster18 Jan 2006 1:53 a.m. PST

The Lycans seem to be misunderstood to me. So I'd root for the underdogs (ooh aweful pun – sorry!).

Although Kate in Leather is mighty pretty!

Dewbakuk18 Jan 2006 2:32 a.m. PST

Lycans, everytime

The Hobbybox18 Jan 2006 2:43 a.m. PST

Lycans!
But I have to say that I Kate B in leather is definitely worth the odd vampy bite.

Or maybe that outfit she had in Van Helsing!

You'll have to excuse me now as I need to go take a cold shower!

Cheers,
Iain.

Vampires. Decadence appeals to me.

mrshasslefree18 Jan 2006 3:52 a.m. PST

Lycans.

well if you like Kate in Leather……..keep an eye out monday for the new releases…..i am not saying one of them was influenced by Kevs watching of the underworld films but………

Halfdan18 Jan 2006 3:58 a.m. PST

I didnt mind the first film but have to say prefer the Blade Trilogy for action and atmosphere plus Bill Nighy cannot portray a Baddie in my eyes, a repressed middle class English man yes (see Shaun of the Dead) but the leader of a Vampire cult, no

Rob Jedi18 Jan 2006 4:31 a.m. PST

Well I much prefer watching Kate B than Blade any day XD

Off to see the sequal on Fridau night.

Kayl MacLaren18 Jan 2006 4:35 a.m. PST

Oddly enough, I saw Nighy in Underworld first, and so automatically assumed that he would end up being one of the undead in Shaun of the Dead. All a matter of perspective, I suppose ;)

While Kate in leather is quite keen, I also thought that Micheal Sheen was pretty cool as Lucius. I guess that would mean that I go with the Deathdealers, but with at least some sympathy for the Lycans?

kreoseus18 Jan 2006 4:39 a.m. PST

I thought the blonde vampyre was quite cute too. Like the style of the vamps, but a lycan at heart ………

shadowcat18 Jan 2006 5:09 a.m. PST

Think they are both great don't think I could choose. They are very different.

Kai Teck18 Jan 2006 5:30 a.m. PST

the big black muscle lycan kicks ass.

Sumatran Rat Monkey18 Jan 2006 5:41 a.m. PST

I liked the end credits. They let me know the hurting was over.

Super Gibbon18 Jan 2006 5:58 a.m. PST

I like the Lycans because they're hairy slobs like me but if Kate asked I'd shave the chops and start shopping at Hot Topic.

BTW, CC didn't give "I'm a sour puss grumpy face and I hate them both" as an option. Nobody freak out, just teasing and pointing at possible attempts at fun burgling. Don't shoot me with an arrow and inquire why I'm not in school.

Area2318 Jan 2006 6:28 a.m. PST

Vampires are sneaky whiners and remind me of goth-parties. Werewolfs are honest no-nonsense and cool.

Halfdan18 Jan 2006 6:31 a.m. PST

Ok Uruk,

If I had to choose it would have to be the Lycans as they were the more earthy, beasty type which appeals to me. For Vamps though I did like the Blood Pack in Blade more thats really what I wanted to say.

Kate Beckinsale not overly fused on her, not enough curves and besides if there was a female Lycan she would have 6 nipples………..I rest my case my lord

Kayl MacLaren18 Jan 2006 6:33 a.m. PST

Semi-related to the topic, as I just watched the movie the other day:

Why do so many vampires smoke? Technically, they're undead and have no need to breathe, right? So why would they bother?

-Brian

shadowcat18 Jan 2006 6:41 a.m. PST

Because it makes them look COOL
How would we know otherwise?

Huscarle18 Jan 2006 7:18 a.m. PST

It was an OK film, and I have no preference as to sides. Except wow, Zita Gorog (Amelia) was certainly hot stuff and I hear that she is the sequel. A good enough reason in itself to go to the cinema.

Delthos18 Jan 2006 7:22 a.m. PST

I'm a Lycan fan myself.

Delthos18 Jan 2006 7:25 a.m. PST

Kayl MacLaren,

Although popular myth says they are undead, just as in Blade I don't think they are portrayed that way in Underworld. They came across very much alive to me, just immortal.

Ray Earle18 Jan 2006 7:37 a.m. PST

Lycans for me! They're just slaves of the full moon, they can't help being evil… Vampires get eternity to consider the options and still come out bad. They deserve to be ripped limb from limb. >:(

Saying that Kate is sexy as hell…

Ray

Sumatran Rat Monkey18 Jan 2006 7:47 a.m. PST

Why do so many vampires smoke? Technically, they're undead and have no need to breathe, right? So why would they bother?

Hell, I smoke now, what with the risk of lung cancer, pulmonary diseases, emphysema, and worst of all, the early morning uphill walk to the tobacco store after I smoke the last cigarette while my fiancee's still asleep, and then realize she's gonna want one when she wakes up.

Give me nicotine combined with immunity to sickness and being out of breath, and you really think I'm going to quit?!

- Monk

mweaver18 Jan 2006 8:29 a.m. PST

The Lycans certainly come across as far more sympathetic.

cheese18 Jan 2006 9:24 a.m. PST

I'm on whatever team Kate is on.

mweaver18 Jan 2006 9:34 a.m. PST

I don't think she is on a team anymore.

jeffrsonk18 Jan 2006 9:50 a.m. PST

I'm for whatever side that will reduce the number of very bad, horrible, no-good genre movies.

wolvermonkey18 Jan 2006 11:04 a.m. PST

Lycans all the way.

FRODO CORLEONE18 Jan 2006 12:04 p.m. PST

It may be just me but…
The trailers which air about every 5 minutes on the channels I watch are really annoying with her James Bond-ish wisecracks in that "I'm too sexy for my skin tight black leather suit" voice.
I hope the movie is not as annoying as the trailers, but the 3rd sequel usually does not have a lot going for it.

Raynman Supporting Member of TMP18 Jan 2006 12:39 p.m. PST

Death Dealers!!! All the way!
Kate Beckinsale………..skin tight leather………..
Ummm, I need to go take a cold shower now!

cheese18 Jan 2006 12:47 p.m. PST

@mweaver – I think she's on her own team now, and I'm on it! :D

Put me in the Beckinsale in leather club. A pox on both the other houses. I plan to catch the first showing of the flick on Friday.

Big Mean Elf18 Jan 2006 6:40 p.m. PST

The Lycans!

:D

alien BLOODY HELL surfer19 Jan 2006 5:37 a.m. PST

Lycans are ok, exccept when the start to molt and get fur everywhere as they lose their winter coat – not to mention some more unsavoury habits ;-) Vamps look cool, but in some ways are dead boring (sorry) and need to get a tan.

Joking aside – great film (not seen the 2nd one) – any ideas on figures and rules people?

Personally, I think I'd go for the vampires as the chicks look soooooo hot in all that leather get up ;-p

Lion in the Stars19 Jan 2006 12:42 p.m. PST

Lycans. Nothing quite like 500lbs of seriously Bleeped texted-off doggy tearing a filthy leech a new one. (IMO, the biggest problem with Van Helsing was how long it took VH to slaughter ol' Vlad. That fight should have been over in 15 seconds)

The lady vamps were easy on the eyes, though.

Jerzei Balowski20 Jan 2006 7:10 p.m. PST

Lycans? As in Lycanthropes? Oh my, all this time I thought they were talking about lichens. I couldn't imagine how lichens could be a threat against vampires … ;-)

BIGGY 91119 Feb 2006 3:16 p.m. PST

i like the mixed guy myself
he definatly kick some wicked ass

15mm and 28mm Fanatik19 Feb 2006 7:34 p.m. PST

Neither. I'd start a paramilitary group of humans and wipe both groups out.

Lord Absinthe14 Mar 2006 9:58 p.m. PST

he movie Van Helsing was a thorough waste of time. It had a good concept, but ended up smashing into a brick wall. I mean really such riveting lines as "nothing is faster than Transylvanian horses", I mean who writes this stuff? They would have been better taking an extra month or two and reworking the dialogue and maybe just maybe making it tolerable. It was 2 hours of bad, put me in mind of having my teeth drilled.

Heyoka James15 Mar 2006 3:40 p.m. PST

Well, if it makes anyone feel better. We'll be getting a remake of The Wolf Man with Del Toro as the big shaggy brute to boot :)

But, yeah, I saw we form a group of heavy-armed guys and take 'em both out. WE'RE top of the food chain dammit!

kharn the betrayer17 Mar 2006 4:26 a.m. PST

I think we are the food chain, but I have to say vampires for the main reason of Kate in Leather, just like the rest of you.

Jakar Nilson17 Mar 2006 6:17 a.m. PST

Every once in a while a series of cartoons willl just tickle the funny bone and the troglodonia one has tickled mine. The last time I laughed so hard was at a series of B.C. cartoons in which John was attempting to avoid falling in a hole. As far as animated ones go, Wile E. Coyote attempting to safely fire a catapult had tears rolling down my cheeks.

Pappa Midnight17 Mar 2006 10:45 a.m. PST

Lycans any day!
I also like Wile E . Coyote!

Cacique Caribe16 Oct 2006 11:28 a.m. PST

So, if you were going to game your favorite faction, what 28mm figures do you recommend?

CC

Cacique Caribe16 Oct 2006 11:59 a.m. PST

I guess the transformed Lycans are already covered:

Conrad16 Oct 2006 12:34 p.m. PST

Well. Just consider. The Lycans live in a filthy, stinking cesspit of a hovel under the city. The vampires live in a proper mansion with running water and electricity. The Lycans need a new set of clothes every time they transmogrify. The vampires can keep their costumes ad infinitum. The Lycans squabble and fight like "rabid dogs!" with each other. The vampires apparently scheme to bed each other on a regular basis.

Given the above, no male wargamer can be anything but – Lycan!

Lowtardog16 Oct 2006 2:07 p.m. PST

For either the Street violence Hardwire Troup fit well and there are the Necromunda Orlock gangers which would do as Lycans too

Plenty of Kate models about.

My Lycans which I have just finished will be in wolf form to start thought they will be hunted by humans. I am using the Occult Wars rules.

chronoglide06 Nov 2007 3:22 p.m. PST

it's rubber, not leather……
and if anyone is interested, the wolfgirl in Ginger Snaps has got multiple nipples…and she is strangely arousing….
