A friend of mine is under the impression that the new cylon robots are giants (link). How tall are those things anyway? |

I don't know but in one show 1st season, the pilot named Helo is hiding out in a dinner and the cylons come in, it didn't look like they had to stoop to walk in the door. So they can't be all that big. |

when cylons entered galactica they looked very tall. |

I did some quick browing on the internet, including wikipedia and battlestarwiki (which I'll readily admit, are far from definitive sources) and both of them state that the new cylon centurions are taller than the centurions in the original show. I think they are taller than average humans, I'm just not sure how much taller (are they 7 feet tall? taller?). |
| Cacique Caribe | 17 Jan 2006 4:21 p.m. PST |
I don't think my math is that off: If my humans are 30mm tall (28mm to the eyes) representing people about 5'8" (68 inches), with "Cylons" at 36mm, then the "Cylons" are only about 82 inches tall, which is 6 feet 10 inches, right? CC |

They look taller than humans on the show. I'd estimate in the 7ft range, but not much more than that. And where did you get Cylon minis, Cacique? |
| Cacique Caribe | 17 Jan 2006 6:07 p.m. PST |
I am calling these my "Cylons": TMP link It is the closest thing I could find. CC |

they look like cylon to me |

Just do a search for "Star Wars Miniatures Super Battle Droids", and you will get other places like this one: link CC |

Ah. Yes, I saw that thread the other day. You were just so definitive, that I figured you had something else. :) I hadn't noticed the similarity before, but they should work great. |
| wolvermonkey | 17 Jan 2006 9:59 p.m. PST |
I'd say Boomer is about 5'5" or 5'6". |

Boomer-Sharon is organic not robotic! CC |

For me I just kinda guessed they were around seven foot tall. Give or take a bit. I just don't understand why some can be taken out with regular rounds. yet the ones on the BSG could only be taken out with special rounds?? I never did understand that? |

Weren't the Cylons that penetrated Galactica reinforced somehow, like the ship they used to cut through the Battlestar like cheese? CC |

People
go to the fracking Sci-Fi channel's BBS for the show to find out BS like this
The Newer Model Cylons measure in at about 7 ft, their height CAN vary anywhere from probably 6 ft to 8 ft if necessary
Think about it a second, .. If you were a machine that had been building other machines for decades upon decades
No forget that
Go back to the beginning
If you are a human who has been building tools, would you make a highly advanced machine capable of many tasks that coupld not vary its geometry (Change to adapt to new needs)? And, once you had made a machine that could adapt to meet all your needs, and that machine then began to built machines of its own; do you really think that it would be stupid enough to NOT build as much geometric efficiency as it could (assuming that it can recursively improve itself, which would be rather impossible without that ability, nor likely to have occurred in the first place)??? So, The Current Centurion is generally arranged to make itself imposing to its current adversary (as the Cylons do not have "enemies", which implies that they "hate" in the same way that we do – they have an opposition to a plan which they have, thus adversaries), thus it is rather tall
But given the changing needs of its environment it can alter that height
Take a Good look at the leg and arm assemblies when you get a chance. |

Hmmm, seems a little harsh to be Dawghoused for that, Judas. You have my sympathy. |

I dont really like BG but when I get off work its on so I end up watching it. But I still cheer for the cylons. they are better organized and work better with each other than the humans, most of whom are really sorry actors as well as characters. |

Well I just picked up the second issue of the Battlestar Galactica magazine. The Fleet Intelligence Report states Cylon Centurion is Six foot six inches tall. For more information on the magazine. titanmagazines.com |

Also should add they have an article about the new BSG novels that are coming out. Tor books is publishing them. The first is a novel of the mini-series. The second book coming out sometime in 2006 is set twenty years after the first cylon war. Back when Adama, Tigh and Zarek are younger. |

Ironwolf, You have made my day. Though the ones I ordered and received look a tad bit taller and 6' 6" (link), they look GREAT as the new cylons! CC |

Jebus! I go away for a few days, and come back to find that I had done something wrong
Well, naughty me
This may get me dowhoused again
But I wonder if I should apologize to the idiots I offended? |

Wasn't me but, what would you call someone who does the same thing over and over again expecting different results? CC |
