Does anyone make them? Links much appreciated.

I have a long term project involving William Forstchen's "Rally Cry" (Lost Regiment Series) and Tugars. I figure that 40mm would be just about right for 28mm humans. Green stuff or Graven Images ape head swaps might finish the transformation.

For a refreser, here is a review of William Forstchen's Rally Cry (Lost Regiment Series):

Irregular do a 42mm range of medievals, I dont know if they do mongols but they definately do saracen light cavalry types that may be useful.

I don't know of any, but I'd buy some 40mm Mongols. Just to paint them for display. In 40mm you could do some nifty things with their armour. Hey Chris Hughes, are you listening?

Well, if you can stand them a little larger, Italeri do a box of 54mm plastic mounted Mongols……as well as Saracens…..

This was a great story. I was all prepared to not like it, as it seemed so far out there, but it got me. Well written and very evocotive. I finished painting up some new GW Ork archers reciently, and they are so big compared to my old plastic orks, they reminded me of the archers in "Rally Cry". Maybe sprues of the GW heads could be used on those 54s? They look very "ape-like".

Artslave,

I once thought of going with Orcs too, but did not see suitable mounts for their cavalry. And Tugars were mostly cavalry.

I guess another option would be to have 15-20mm humans against 25-28mm Huns/Mongols?

What about these….

You can remount them on Dixon Samurai horses too.

I guess I will have to go for 30mm "Tugars" and really small humans.

I hope there have been new developments or plans for 40mm Mongols in the last year:

If you are going the smaller scale rout (15mm humans), look at the 1/72 scale Italeri Mongols and all the Sveda (sp?)
Mongols, Huns etc. in plastic. Very easy to convert/head swap.
