This sounds like a combination of pulp fiction, genetic engineering and bad hentai:

In the 20's Stalin commissioned a top animal breeder,Ilya Ivanov, to develope a human/ape hybrid that was inured to pain, resilliant and not picky about food quality. Needless to say, the project failed. However, it looks like some of the pulp lines aren't too far off from (attempted) history.

Sounds like the kind of dastardly plot you could expect from Uncle Joe,

There already is a topic on this board about this. Interesting stuff though.

You can't make up stuff like that. In a novel, I would throw the book against the wall, stop reading, and ban the author from any future purchases.

The other thread got sidetracked into an utterly pointless discussion about mechanization in WWII. Some people don't have a clue what's important.

Just imagine being one of the poor Kulaks 'volunteered' for the initial experiment……"Come Alexei Ivanovich! her name is Bonzetta. She is anybody's for a banana and a quick tic grooming…."

I see, Jack…
That is an example of a "bad" hijacking, as opposed to the ones that I and Polynikes regularly engage in.

I wonder if the main character from the Goulag comic series by Dimitri (aka Guy Sajer) would count as half ape?

There's no pleasing some genocidal maniacs. He'd already got the one nationality on earth that even vagUELY fits his design spec and he wanted more?

I believe Stalin came up with that idea after watching Wizard of Oz …. the Winged Monkeys were the Russian answer to the Fallschirmjaegers ….

andygamer25 Dec 2005 7:14 p.m. PST

Yeah, Stalin had them all liquidated when he discovered, to his horror, that ape would not kill ape.

This is reminiscent of "Return to Castle Wolfenstein," only Soviet style. regards, John

A cunning plan foiled by the complete lack of bananas in Siberia?

I always thought that the Sliders' Kromaggs looked like Russian-ape hybrids:

Imagine that on a WWII board.
