I like it….

But I can't help but have the immortal words of Peter Boyle going through my head……

PUTT'N ON THE RITZ………

now my daughter is singing it…….

LOL! At least it's better than the questionable gold-grey paintjob.

Randall12 Dec 2005 4:57 a.m. PST

Ha! I love it too! Everyone looks good in black formal.

Lucius12 Dec 2005 5:12 a.m. PST

Black is the new gold.

Cold Steel12 Dec 2005 5:13 a.m. PST

This is the new James Bot, model 007.

Have you seen the well to do up and down Park Avenue
On that famous thouroughfare with their noses in the air
High hats and Arrow collars, white spats and lots of dollars
Spending every dime for a loveley time

If you're blue and don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where fashion sits
Puttin' on the Ritz
Different types who wear a day coat, pants with stripes
And cutaway coat, perfect fits
Puttin' on the Ritz

dressed up like a million dolar trooper
Trying hard to look like Gary Cooper
Super duper

Come on let's mix where Rockefallas walk with sticks
Or "um-ber-ellas" in their mitts
Puttin' on the Ritz

Strolling down the avenue so happy
All dressed up like an English chappie
Very snappy

you'll declare it's siply top thing to be there
And hear them swapping smart tidbits
Puttin' on the Ritz

Irving, welcome to TMP! We could use some tone around here. And is that Noel Coward I see in the doorway?

The G Dog Fezian12 Dec 2005 6:04 a.m. PST

Cute!

It says to me – "Your whine, sir…."

mweaver12 Dec 2005 6:27 a.m. PST

"The big Gold Mech is back!!!"

And dressed to kill.

ACWBill12 Dec 2005 6:29 a.m. PST

If he's dressed to kill then lets oblige him!

Vanilla Gorilla12 Dec 2005 6:46 a.m. PST

I'm sick of that robot!

Funny…I hear that song and the scene from "Young Frankenstein" pops into my head….

PeteMurray12 Dec 2005 6:57 a.m. PST

My favorite version of "Puttin' on the Ritz" is the one from the Jeeves and Wooster episode where Stephen Fry tells Hugh Laurie where to put the accents.

"Ah, indeed! Thank you, Jeeves!"

Steve Flanagan12 Dec 2005 7:49 a.m. PST

Am I missing something, or is that the same photo with the black tie rig added in Photoshop?

nycjadie12 Dec 2005 8:12 a.m. PST

Murphy:
"Funny…I hear that song and the scene from "Young Frankenstein" pops into my head…."

I was thinking the same thing. Ughh ugh ugh ugh.

Oh great, coffee spatter all over the monitor again! Geeze, I hate it when that happens.

Allen5712 Dec 2005 8:39 a.m. PST

Much better but, I still want him melted dowm for some 6mm infantry.

Oh I dont know a pig in a tux is still a pig…

Well, I guess "mister" robot is a welcome fellow again.

First class!

Ridethelightning12 Dec 2005 9:51 a.m. PST

Well, he sure isn't growing on me. This robot remains one of the ugliest minis I've ever seen (and I've seen way too much of him already). They say that everyone looks good in a tux. Well, TMP has just proved that saying wrong ;-)

Cosmotiger12 Dec 2005 10:00 a.m. PST

Gold and White Robot goes to all the effort to get dressed up for us, and all you guys do is criticize! Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a 75 foot tall tux?

Arteis12 Dec 2005 10:17 a.m. PST

Ridethelightning: If you didn't like him in a tux, there are a few pics of him which you might like a tad better on this thread from a few day ago:

Ah, so it was 'shopped, by Mel Ebbles.

Mind you, I'm sure Bond wouldn't be so tasteless as to wear a red cummerbund.

Ridethelightning12 Dec 2005 10:39 a.m. PST

Thanks Arteis, I hadn't seen them…

Whatever else one may think about the bot, he has definitely been good for a lot of laughs. With so much dissing, laughing, photoshopping and what have you going on, we're in danger of having the bot become a mascot for the site. Now there's a scary thought… Or maybe not ;-)

nazrat12 Dec 2005 11:21 a.m. PST

You guys just CAN'T let it go, can you? 8)=

Historicalgamer12 Dec 2005 11:40 a.m. PST

Since he is now dressed for a gala New Year's Eve party, does this mean we all have to look at him until then?????

Yikes !!!

MelEbbles12 Dec 2005 12:36 p.m. PST

Heh, I was really surprised to see my James Bot submission on the front page of TMP. grin

It's not just a tacky red cummerbund, it's Q's latest invention: the discreet emergency escape parafoil!

Neotacha12 Dec 2005 3:48 p.m. PST

I think it's kinda cute now, in the little tux and all.

Nice job, Mel.

White Elks 10 String Guitar12 Dec 2005 4:21 p.m. PST

ROFLMAO-

Its nice to know we have an Editor who listens so carefully to his audience: I now will have to paint an entire phalanx of Mechs in Tux 7 Tail….

Neotacha: "I think it's kinda cute now, in the little tux and all.

Thanks!

Rattlehead13 Dec 2005 4:49 a.m. PST

The tux is an improvement for sure! At least Bill didn't use Polynikes' version:

Heaven help us…

PaintMinion13 Dec 2005 3:01 p.m. PST

I like it, but still…this guy strikes me as the laid back sorta mech, not a top hat sorta guy. He needs a Hawaiian shirt and surf shorts.

Arteis13 Dec 2005 11:43 p.m. PST

Don't say that too loud, PaintMinion … you might get what you want!
