I want to create a few jungle native village settings and would like to know if anyone makes packs of just skulls (or nearly decomposed heads, for that matter)?

I was suggested to buy skeletons and zombies and pop their heads off, but that seemed a bit wasteful.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Fortress has some. They are listed under accessories.

I know there is someone that makes packs of skulls, but for the life of me I can't think of who at the moment (helpful huh?).

I'm sure someone will chime in shortly. It's TMP…they always do.

In a pinch, the BB in reaper paints is a skull.

For Amazonians, Caribs and Cimarrons . . .

I am thinking of putting a few on stakes, some with Spanish morions on them (I mould my own morions – skulls are too hard)! Other skulls will be imbedded into other accessories.

Hey! I might even make a few pieces with skulls for my cavemen!

Thanks guys!

In case you know someone who has bought plastic GW skeletons and undead, loot his bits box: those sets come with a lot of spare heads and such.

Reapers are pretty expensive compared to the veritable necropolis of skulls in the baggie from Fortress. Not all of the Fortress pack I picked up a decade ago were human skulls, but I'm still working on the supply tothis day.

Armorcast used to do huge piles of skulls in resin, with a few spines, ribcages, and other bones thrown in. Very nice, and very easy to paint. One of the piles even had a soccer ball tossed in, the cheeky monkeys. Sadly, no one has picked up the old Armorcast terrain molds yet…

If you check out GW's online store site (I use the Canadian store but I think the main store page is store.us.games-workshop.com ) you can get individual sprues from their plastic boxed sets, such as skeletons. It's probably still not as cost-effective as your 60 skulls for $10 USD but does give a way to get other parts too so you can make skeletons on gibbets, skeletal arms pointing to buried treasure, etc.

Ok, this is what makes up the Fortress Figures skull sprues:

link

For $10, you get 60 skulls: 40 of them human, while 20 are orc-like (there are 6 skulls per sprue, 4 of them human, 2 orc-like).

PLUS, you get 1 human leg bone per sprue (10 total)!

Not a bad deal at all.

Man, you can never have too many skulls. Ready to order from Fortress Figures again (AFT005 Resin Skulls).
