Does anyone make generic plastic skeletons besides GW? Theirs are actually quite good (I have some) but a bit too period-specific. |

Not that I know of. But you could easily cut off the weapons from the GW skellies – or do you want more modern clothes? |

Ral Partha did, many years ago. There might still be some available from DwarvenForge.com. Check their site. They're pre-painted, but IMO, they are very decent, particularly for the price. They may not have any left, though. Not sure why you want/need plastic skeletons, but as a metal option, I would highly recommend MegaMinatures' metal skeletons. The price is fantastic, and the sculpts are decent. I needed a horde of skeleton archers, and they had exactly what I needed. If I didn't have oodles of skeletons (plastic and metal) already, I would have bought hordes of skeletal infantry, as well. Cheers! |

Reaper just put out their pre-painted plastic skeletons for $2 USD each. Mega Minis has 20 tin skeletons for $20, which can't be beat if you like the sculpts or if you simply need a lot of them. If you want skeletons with modern firearms Steve Jackson makes a pack, I think its 6 tin for $25, but they're nice (and customizable). Andrew |

Most of the skeleton minis I've run into have armor or weapons that put them in a 'medieval Europe' sortof milieu. At least the GW plastics don't have armor molded onto them
but the weapons are kind of telling. |

? They could have bits of colting, armour, etc, sculpted on. Having said that, the base Skelteons sprue from GW ( link ) doesn't have any such features (apart from weapons, which are easily removed). One of the torsos may have partial armour, but I can't tell from the photos. If you want some more 'modern' skeletons with guns, the GW skeletons don't have a left arm supporting a weapon. Apart from that, I'm not sure where the problem is; I had a half-dozen skeletons with rifles painted up at one point. |

"One of the torsos may have partial armour, but I can't tell from the photos." Yes, one of the torsos does have armor strapped onto the front. Greg

Zveda's skeletons have a roman style if I remember correctly. Since they are multipart plastic ones it might be easier to convert them to generic ones though so they might be a good choice for you. |

Hi UAA, GW is the only hard plastic maker of 28mm skeletons. Before the existing batch, the earlier ones were smaller
more 25mm with more delciate weapons. Ral Partha made a abtch of soft plastic ones, but they were no fun to work with
hard to prime and they broke and bent easily. Go for metal ones
they're lots of different ones available. Everyone and their brother has been making the ever-popular 28mm skeleton since the late 1970s. Check out Frothers-UK for lots of ideas. If you're lazy at painting, go for Reaper's new pre-paints. I have lots of photos of 28mm undead on my blog if you're curious to take a gander; it's been my latest big project. Salibaba, they're a bit too Egyptian for my needs. The Zvezda's sound tempting, but again, too specific. I may have to go with metals. Thanks folks! |

Link for Reaper's new pre-painted plastic link I bought 3 skellies the other day. I like them. |

I would not recommend Zveda's skeletons; they are not worth the time to put together IMO, way too many tiny pieces. They do make good casualties that have been aroun a while, though

Those plastic Ral Partha skelllies were actually produced by Fortress Figures---and I would really like to acquire some if someone has some they're not using
Regards, David |

produced from Ral Partha sculpts of course---I think Julie Guthrie did them

Errm, how are these Egyptian-looking??? Indeed. Only the Tomb Kings set has Egyptian iconography, and all of that is on a separate sprue. If you check the link in my first post, you'll see you can simply order the main sprue, and not get any of the Egyptian-looking shields, or the ones with big skulls on. |

>>>GW is the only hard plastic maker of 28mm skeletons. As others have pointed out: Zvezda make hard plastic skellies. but they are even more Roman than the GW Tomb Kings skellies are Egyptian. |
