Jan II Sobieski (defender of Christianity)

Elizabeth II (Probably not a great monarch (given her 2 oldest sons) but she was the monarch that I grew up with)

Napoleon

Louis XVI (without whom there would likely be no US)

Haakon VII (it took a lot to stand up to Hitler for his people-the well known photo of he and the Crown Prince running to avoid German bombs has stuck with me ever since seeing it for the first time as a child)

You know, every time some hippie told me "things would be very different if presidents and prime ministers had to fight in their own wars" I wondered how he'd care for being ruled by Alexander the Great, Frederick the Great, Richard the Lion-hearted or Napoleon. It felt as though the schools had already given up teaching history.

George III. He's provided me more wargames than any other.

That said, he's boring to read about, and I really don't know that much about the guy. The Diadochi are much more interesting.
