It's pretty much over my head but I did take a 20 hour online course a few months ago.
I've been playing around with it for designing or enhancing games. I think it can help in rapid prototyping a new game idea and come up with details you may not have thought of. It's also good at rewriting sections of rules.

It didn't really come up with anything new that other games were already using.
It's more of an art the way you write the prompts than anything else. There is no AI/LLM or programming knowledge needed.
I did sit through a 90 minute detailed presentation by four AI PHD's on what goes on behind the LLM models at John Hopkins University last year and don't recall any of it as it was not aimed at end users.
Regarding using AI, it's so simple even a Marine Grunt can do it.
