This month, I painted Gauls/Celts, who have to have striped trousers or tunics, and end up going slowly. Except this time, I actually got quite a few done. Just as well, since I'd held off on several purchases, and got a little carried away.

Bought--48
Painted--18
So, I was 30 behind for the month.

For the year, it was a happier story.
Bought--204
Painted--208!!
So, +4 for the year--well, at least it was in the positive category.

Since the object is to diminish the unpainted figure collection, it's worth noting that I sold off 55 unpainted figures.

Plan for 2026 (Wow! I never had a plan before!): Paint 200 figures. Certainly feasible, since I painted 208 this past year, 237 the year before, and 301 the year before that. Then, limit purchases to 150 figures. This will be the hard part, since the figures purchased for the last three years have been 204, 223, and 184. Part of the plan here is to spend more of my money on scenery, but that may create a problem of its own, with unpainted scenery piling up.

As for selling off things, I don't make snap decisions to sell things; I'm more the sort that mulls something over for months on end before selling them. However, I have been mulling over selling off half my unpainted Plains Indians and my 15 mm WWII Italians that never took off because nobody in my group wanted to play Flames of War.

Not part of The Pledge, but this year, I actually managed to sell off more books than I bought, clearing off a few inches of bookshelf space, and lowering the pile of unread books beside my bed.

What looked promising turned out to be a bust. I did not complete anything. Fortunately I did not buy anything so I stayed on the plus side in reducing my lead pile for the year.
