I recently attended the Brisbane Gaming, Hobby & Model Expo, where we put on a wargaming demo TMP link As a first time attendee, I was very impressed by the professional & seamless organisation of the show. There was a lovely, friendly & supportive vibe amongst a lot of people with differing interests. Lots to do & see.
Amongst various delights was a model making creche. This roped off area had chairs & tables & models were provided for the young (& sometimes not that young) to sit & build. Supervision was provided who also gave advice & help, where needed. Whether the parents hovered or left for a quick coffee from the array of fine food trucks, I believe the respite was appreciated by both adults & kiddos. I have no idea if this is a common feature at shows & conventions but regardless, an ACE idea. |

There's an outfit here in the midwest US called Get the Lead Out. They attend a lot of cons and do a paint and take. Minis, brushes, paints all provided. Only rule is you have to paint it at the con. I donate a lot of my singleton leftovers to them. |
