Comments or corrections?

I've been looking through "Eagles over the Alps" for the names of the Russian infantry regiments, which I found. However, when I go to the GMB Russian flag site, none of the names listed in the book can be found on his site. Did the infantry name change (which is always possible)? I'd like to paint up those units and have the right flags, but I'd also like to have confidence that the flags I use are reasonably correct. I know for this period and specifically for this area, finding reasonable information is difficult. Thank you in advance for your help.

At that time Russian Pauline infantry were known by their Shef/Oberst names.

Are you looking for standards for using with miniatures??

Stoppage,
Thank you for the information. I'll compare this to what is on the GMB site. And yes, I plan on using the standards with miniatures for gaming purposes.

I did the OB in 15mm for Novi, and I think I STILL have the files, which I could send, let me check when i get home, im sure sizing them up wouldn't be a problem

Thank you all for your help. Now, how about uniform information for the Russians in Italy? Can you point me to a site?

On Edit: I may have found something from the previous discussions in TMP. But any further information you can recommend will be greatly appreciated.

@18th Century Guy,

Very useful download for Vladimir Vladimirovich Zvegintsov work covering the Russian Army 1796-1800. Although main text is in Russian, text (names of regiments etc) under coloured in illustrations towards the latter part are in both Russian & French. link

Essling,

Thank you for the link to that information. The coloured illustrations are very good and very helpful!

@18th Century Guy,

Glad that was of use.

I have now uploaded two extracts from the French Tradition Magazine with useful coloured illustrations:
Russians in Switzerland 1799 link
Russian infantry at Zurich 1799 link
and from a Russian book an extract covering infantry from 1796-1801 (sorry text is in cyrillic) link

Enjoy

Ian
