Russia's armored forces are collapsing. With thousands of tanks and vehicles destroyed and production unable to keep up, Putin is relying on unprotected "meat assaults" to seize ground. The brutal Battle of Toretsk reveals how deep the crisis runs—soldiers with no armor, no support, and no hope. As Soviet-era stockpiles dry up and replacement vehicles fail, Russia's strategy is imploding under the weight of its own attrition. The Military Show: link |

Unfortunately, as Stalin said, quantity has a quality of its own. They have the bodies to throw at it, and Putin seems inclined to use them. |

I'm with John Armatys. An interesting complementary demographic situation is developing between Russia and China. China's family policies have resulted in too few women. Russia is throwing away its men. Cupid is trying to figure out how to reduce xenophobia. |

Eh, we will see. Drones have significantly changed armored warfare. Russia would probably be better served if they could still crank out T-62s. Russia is at one million combat casualties now. Their WWII military loses numbered close to nine million. It's just part of doing business. |

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Per the Russian head of Sberbank: Car sales down 40% Farm Machinery sales down 33% Inflation at 9% Interest rates 21% Oil and gas revenues down 12% Cash reserves down 66% Quote from the Russian economy minister Reshetnikov " we are on the brink of transitioning into reccession" Central banker Nabiullina told a business forum in St. Petersburg that sources of growth have been exhausted. The Russian economy is a Potemkin village. |

I'm not convinced. The Military Show has always been a bit optimistic shall we say. I suspect Russia has 2 more years before it runs out of steam. Question is whether Ukraine can keep the support it needs to survive |

I'm wondering how long you can eat what… …they feed you?))) TMP link McKinstry, Obama once said that "the Russian economy is in tatters"))) link Don't get your hopes up! The Russians have not even come close to the regime: "Rise up, great country!"

Returning Tank Production to Soviet Era Levels: Russia Will Soon Be Building Over 3000 T-80s and T-90s Per Year Life is about decisions and consequences -- IF Russia goes back to Soviet-era military spending, THEN it also returns to a Soviet-era economy. How well did that work out? |
