Jets vs Sharks.
The Rumble.
Escape from New York.
The Warriors.
By bye Birdie.

That kind of miniature.
Not armed cartels or that sort of thing.

Music by Leonard Bernstein and Joe Walsh.

Have you looked at Foundry's "Street Violence" line:

Although almost all are very heavily armed, there are several that might work.

Talk to Mike Demana, he did a game based on the Warriors. Check LAF.

Assuming you are looking for 28mm figures.

I found an old TMP link about this, but not too useful:

But if you have the funds, the old Cyber Punk line showed here might add some fun:
link

There is a line from Brigade Games called Atomic Cafe:
link

There was a line of multi-part gangsters from Warlords called Project Z, but down to selling off stock as out of production:

Other Zombie lines should provide more, especially if you can modify figures. Filling in the open wounds and such.

You might try look for basic 1950s civilians as well.

And for more inspiration also watch the film "Streets of Fire" imdb.com/title/tt0088194
With Willem Defoe.

"Flags of War" sells "Ghetto Miniatures" figurines of a tabletop game involving 1970's New York City street gangs called "New York Bop", it was based the characters and other elements from « The Warriors ».
You will find : The « Coney Island Braves » gang, the « Satan's Skins » gang, The « Black Cobras » gang (the « Riverside Ballers » gang is missing due to Paramount exclusive owning of the copyrights to the motion picture "The Warriors").
You will find also the T-Birds ans the Pink Ladies from « Grease »

Why is everything at that Flags of War link marked as SOLD OUT? That's depressing!

Too much of that going on! And not just at Flags of War.
It's depressing indeed to learn that something really cool that you never heard of before… doesn't really exist. 😢

Almost as if on Cue

Mantic has a pre-order of a Walking Dead line with:

I am pretty sure these are plastic, allowing easy modification.

Apparently, Zombies seem to be the figures of choice. 🤷
Shambling about makes dance scenes problematic.
Snapping fingers ….?

You're a business that makes and sells miniatures -- how can you ever afford to be SOLD OUT? Can't you just make more?? I don't get it.

I went to the grocery store today to buy some Food, but sadly, they were SOLD OUT! I'll just eat my hat. And make some minis out of Play-Doh.
