As 3d printing is making more options available – was curious as to what people think were or are the best building line(s)

For me it was Architectural Heritage – I believe I have all of the 15mm ones made and a couple of the 25mm

Thoughts?

If you are referring to older ones I agree that Architectural Heritage were the best. If referring to current ones I would go with 4Ground which unfortunately closed.

Lasercut (multiple periods) = Things From The Basement

3D Napoleonic = 3D Print Terrain

3D Modern Urban = Corvus Games Terrain

tabletop-world.com Resin cast fantasy buildings. Wonderful sculpts. Could never afford them.

Grand Manner. Selection was awesome. Price was a little harsh on the wallet.

4Ground and Tactical Conflict Systems. The first for being painted and easy to assemble for a fair price. The second for value for price paid and sometimes being scale anachronistic. YMMV

Hovels.

Currently for reasonable cost, my best selling range is TTC.
I know the guys at MBA and like their stuff. It is pre-painted with lift off roofs and floors.
Battle Systems sold for awhile are pre-painted thick cardboard stock. Great for lakes, rivers and roads, bogs.
In 15mm, Stone Mountain Miniatures had a good range but I do not know if Dave is still casting them.
In the old days, I started selling in 1983, I carried Greenfield, 4Ground which I thought TTC might buy up. JR which did not have lift off roofs but a slew of 10-15mm selections, Hovels when they had an American distributor. A Belgian company that started with a G, Lol. The Flying Tricycle of Chicago which burned done. Also a few others as well.

Guidancetown USA plastic buildings (approx. 1/72/HO). Admittedly, it's only one "style" of looks, but they are great for conversions (I have enough pieces to build a good-sized city… ;-)

I waited until the 30% off sale, in December of last year and bit the bullet and bought their Coaching Inn, before they retired it.
Good service, good shipping, well made, and an awesome piece. If you can catch their stuff on sale, that's the time to get what you want.

The 15mm Spanish/Italian building range by the DRUM. Long gone but the moulds were about a few years ago.

For 15mm ACW and Napoleonics, my favorite is Scenic Effects. They are now produced by Monday Knight Productions. Sadly some molds were damaged and a few buildings are no longer available.

Also, for some unknown reason, some very nice buildings are available but are not on their website. You have to call or email for a list. Aspern church is one of those.

Total Battle and Battlefront. Loved the Drum and Scenic Effects (Miss the Drum a lot- still have some SE in original packaging awaiting the finish of my bout with smaller scales…might be a while….) oh, Architectural Heritage and the WOW building STL files.

I really like the Empires At War ( link ) and Sarissa ( sarissa-precision.com ) ranges. The low Oz dollar and very high P&P costs mean that I'm making do with what I have.

Snapdragon – great buildings, and their fantasy was truly fantastical

Artilleryman03 Apr 2024 12:16 a.m. PST

Snapdragon were great. I met the creator once when I went to make a personal order collection. Such a nice guy. A real shame he had to stop manufacturing.
