I just saw an add for this game, does anyone know if they plan to have more than just Spartan vs. Spartan? Is this a Kill Team scale game?

If Halo Frontiers came out with all three factions, UNSC, Covenant and Flood in modular sprues I might be tempted…

Full details still to be announced. I would expect that while a Spartan Vs Spartan is going to be possible, other factions will be seen. Bit dull and limited otherwise.

I'm sensing a Flashpoint in the Pan. I'll shop the discontinued sales in a couple years.

I do like Halo but…

And it seems a bit pointless without the Covenant and UNSC. Currently it does look like a Spartan v Spartan starter set and a relatively small-scale game (wild guess dozen to half-dozen models per side). I'm quite impressed by Mantic's Deadzone rules so if it uses those I'd still put myself in the tempted bracket.

So far Mantic seem to have managed their previous licensed products pretty well – I'm not seeing a lot of Walking Dead going for truely knock down prices on eBay.

Halo has been a bit of a bad seller for miniatures games. Its might as an IP was several years ago at this point.

Agreed and everything produced at that time was garbage. Halo could have been so much more…

The game was discontinued in 2022 and, like a zombie, is now coming back from the dead. I think we are seeing an eBay bounce not unlike all the WHFB stuff suddenly popular for TOW.

Agreed and everything produced at that time was garbage.

Bit harsh, some dodgy design and production decisions aside, the Halo Ground Command miniatures I have are excellent. Rules and business case for a 15mm Halo mass-combat game are may be more debatable – particularly since it has every appearance that the license may have had a role in pulling Spartan Games under.

Rules appear Deadzone-based or inspired. There is at least a whiff of Covenant models (I actually think the Elites look nicer than the Spartans – but I'm not sure the red and blue looks that great on camera). Based on the pics from the pre-order for the two different sets (prices TBC) they look a bit more on the boardgamey side of the TMG spectrum IMO. But that's probably relatively sensible given the target audience.
