Hello

A friend has been 3D printing various WW2 items for me in 1/72 scale. However, he has been unable to find files for Afrika Korps support weapons (mortars and HMGs). I would be grateful if someone can tell me where we can find these. I am happy to pay for the files.

Thank you

Would they not be the same as any other theater?

Almost all machine guns 3d printed never come out right; they are too small. suggest getting these in metal from ebay and such e.g. Sgts Mess might have suitable. I have never been able to print 3D items that are that small.

Sorry, I didn't make myself entirely clear. I'm also after the crews for the weapons.

Companycmd, the Italian mortars, HMGs and crews that my friend has printed for me have come out just fine.

3D Breed has a mortar and mg set for the Afrika Korp. I was on the KS for that one. They include the crews.

3dbreed.es/africa-korps Not too expensive.

Thanks

John

Hi

3DBreed.es make stls in 28mm and 15mm so it would require rescaling.

I'm not a fan of 3DBreed's figures, as I feel they look rather too much like militaristic hobbits. However, nobody else has really tried to do anything like a comprehensive WWII range of figures for printing, so they sort of dominate that sphere by default.

There are some people on Wargames3d and MMF doing WWII ranges. Eskice and Warbear come to mind. Warbear has an extensive Pacific range. Eskice being French has a early war range. Here is a Warbear German MG team.

Thank you. We'll take a look at the other ranges too.

You an solve the squat legs issue with 3D Breed by going 90% vertical and 80% horizontal. Or whatever you desire by using the scale function. No big deal adjusting them. That's one of many wonderful things about 3D printing.

Thanks

Elheim has an excellent selection of infantry support weapons that are extremely well detailed and at a very decent price.
I use AB Figures for most of my infantry and Mirilton from CGM have a good range of Italians. My 1940 Germans are AB; French 1940 are Simons Soldiers; 1941 North Africa Aust/Brit are AB; DAK are AB; and italian are Mirilton. AB may be starting into this range.
