"Where is Battles for Empire?" Topic

I was disappointed to find that Battles for Empire 2nd Edition was not included among the titles in the current poll for 5 Best Colonial Rules. The rules are my go to for large colonial battles.

The eternal answer: no one nominated it during the pre-poll discussion.

Where are these pre-poll discussions? I have never seen them. I just get the polls after they are released.

Our group recently play tested a follow on version of BFE that is at a slightly higher level, so the four stands of each unit are a battalion, which will let you do some of the larger colonial era battles. There was also an alternative movement and rally system that use specially marked dice that played pretty fast. The designer isn't sure if this will be included in the updated BFE3 or as a separate rules set, but it's still being worked on.

Poll proposals are posted on TMP Poll Suggestions Message Board.

But the trick part is that they won't appear on the front page under that board if (as often happens), they get cross-posted to other relevant board(s) because the front page identifies posts by the last board cross-posted to rather than the original board (which is not actually a good feature…).

Are there any reviews of said rules and where to we procure them?
