Anyone have any good ideas or examples of an orbital landing craft for 15mm? It don't think it needs to be exactly to scale even a 1/150 would look ok I imagine. |

Like a dropship, interface shuttle, or a flying box like they used in the Expanse? |

try the toy aisle, action figure spaceships often do well with a bit of paint. You can change the scale just by painting over most of the canopy. Robert |

If you have a Goodwill or similar thrift or second hand store close by, I'd try there. It'll be inexpensive and, if it's still usable, you can bet it'll be damn near indestructible. |

The Firefly Yahtzee game has a model ship that I use for my games.

I have always liked this one. It is very realistic.

Thank you everyone for the great ideas. I did buy a block of airdry clay but doubt my skill levels will be good enough. :) |

You might consider plastic Easter eggs. They come in a variety of sizes, are available everywhere (in the USA at least) at this time of year, and are inexpensive. The eggs that are made of hard plastic, similar to (or the same as) what model airplane kits are made of, and take glue and paint well, so you can add greeblies like landing gear, hatches, etc. Easter eggs usually come in two parts, and you could glue one side to a sheet of hard plastic or even card stock to get another shape of dropship/lander. A very long time ago, I made a few out of L'Eggs eggs. L'Eggs were a brand of pantyhose that were sold in a hard plastic egg that was about 2 or 3 times as large as a hen's egg. I haven't seen those dropships, nor retail L'Eggs, in a very long time. |

Yea, plastic Easter eggs are a good idea. Buzz Lightyear has a couple of purple dropships with yellow bots for a very reasonable price. Sold in Walmart and Target. Harder to find now, so you might have to go to eBay for those. Check out the "Dropships" postings here on TMP in the history logs for 15mm SciFi and SciFi Discussion pages. Lots of good stuff there, but more like shuttles than landing craft. The Avenger Quinjets are superb for those. A number of others too. |
